Plus side: This whole thing it so new, it was open to manipulation. All part of the growing pains. You can't react to everything you see.
Minus side: This was a sucker's game from the get-go. And you knew it.
I haven't gotten involved yet. I'm not even good in regular season long fantasy football anymore. It will be ok. Just pay a few like a lottery and steal the rest. No one will know or even care.

Common theme
I am actually surprised they got fantasy sports off the ground like they have. I really thought the government or some third party was regulating it already. The commercials/ads/billboards are everywhere....anyway I see what the owners have done and they appear at least to me, to be following the legal framework to operate in the US. UIGEA states one player deciding an outcome and you have to draft a team to play DFS. Even if we are talking about golf or nascar, those all require multiple people in order to win.
If the employees are using the data and playing elsewhere then that is probably an ugly grey area. I guess in my opinion it is irrelevant if they are using that data to create a super team of contrarian players at fanduel or wherever.
There are odds services (free and paid) that are available for anyone that include lineups, weather, umpires etc. Just because you have that information doesn't automatically give you winners. You still have to apply some sort of knowledge/math/intuition/will to your decision making process much like in poker where sometimes the odds are incorrect but perhaps you think you have a feel for who you are playing against amongst other examples.
The only issue I see is if all of sports or the particular sports being offered by DFS are rigged themselves. That information would obviously invalidate many things. I don't doubt there are questionable things that occur in sports (Dony NBA, points shaving etc) but I do not think it is as widespread as some may think.
Just as a final thought I did win a little at one of the DFS (Fanduel...I posted the win here somewhere), but I am in no way an affiliate with them or even anyone other than myself. I literally can barely create an excel spreadsheet let alone run some laslow computer from the hidden closet so it is hard to say it is all a sham.

fantasy sports got off the ground because it gave people the feeling of being a GM in season long leagues. You could get together and compete against friends. DFS is nothing more than gambling. If it's legal everything else should be too

Yep, Sh*t is gonna hit the fan soon. Knowing ownership percentages before the contest locks is a huge advantage. Both Draftkings and Fanduel released statements today on this issue that were complete jokes.
This whole thing blew up after Draftkings written content manager accidentally leaked lineup data for the millionaire maker tourney before all the games had started. This is the same guy who is dominating on Fanduel. ----- “Ethan Haskells( Written content manager at DK Playbook)big win wasn’t his first. He won $100k recently and took down four, yes FOUR grand slams this SUMMER. Just this summer.”
I've been focusing on FD the last cpl weeks. Call it a temporary fascination perhaps, but I haven't been losing. No big hit yet, mostly finishing just inside the pay line for featured tournaments and grinding out 50/50s and small leagues, some h2h.

This is the perfect customer in their eyes. Win enough to keep playing and feed that rake monster. I dipped my toes a few seasons ago but the rake turned me off way before i realized it's essentially rigged for multi buyin computer bots. I really hope this is the beginning of the end. If I see one more ahole on those commercials: "I deposited 35 dollars on FanDuel and won over 2 million"...give me a fukking break. .01% of the people win 99.9% of the money. I'll stick to the season-long grind.
