Its the beginning of Round 2 today and there are teams with " Must Win " games and others who can lock up a place in the knockout stage. The 2 other games slated for today see Canada facing Qatar and Mexico vs Sth. Korea. Canada are way over priced and Mexico & Sth. Korea can win the group with a victory in the late game.

The Swiss team is simply a sub par mid tier Euro side.

They dont know how to deal with an organized defense.

And this was kind of obvious pre tourney if we just looked and beleived our eyes, instead of thinking Euro soccer is elite.

I did not expect it but am loving how African and Asian teams are out doing expectations and Euro teams are being exposed as pretty lame this year.

I don't know about not trying in group games, but agree the knockout stage is when the cream quickly rises to the top every time.

Although I have to admit that right now I am thinking it might be a good time to invest in a couple of longer shots to become first time World Cup winners.

Fair enough about the early Euro slump declaration. I will stand by my feeling that is going to be a theme through this tourney though.

But this Swiss team isn't going anywhere even if they win 5-1 against 10 men from here imho. Disappointing in both games for mine.

Yeah like Portugal and the Netherlands. That's about how far it will go. None of the African and Asians are going past the final 8 . One will get there at most. Swiss coach made one change and this organized d was taken apart. First time winner odds were+240 pre tournament and the two i mentioned above are the only ones who can do it.

Good games by the lower tier teams so far but we saw this in Qatar as well before reality settled in.
