Can’t believe it’s 0-0 at half. I picked Spain to win it all. Ugh!

The even $ line is long gone
I think there is a reason the odds are at all close to even money for the 20th ranked team v the 85th ranked team in the world.
Kiwis are way better than their ranking implies.
Chris Wood +333 to score anytime for me.

Based solely on recent performances , its hard to tell which team shows up. The 1 - 0 loss to England or the 4 - 0 loss to Haiti ?

Take their last half dozen opponents and results and compare the quality and scores to what Iran has faced and you might also wonder why NZ aren't favorites.
1 weirdly bad result v Haiti in the last 2 or 3 years doesn't mean much I don't think.
I'd never bet on Iran holding England to 1-0.
Anyway my main angle is that this is Wood's last chance to cement his legacy at home with an iconic performance, he is pretty much their sole focus for goal scoring, has a 50% record of scoring. Netted a couple in Europa league this year and is pretty much a class above the rest of the players on both teams.

You forgot how they played at the last world cup.
Now they are worse and think Yamal is going to win them the cup.
Basically Barcelona minus a striker.

I readily admit that i have very little to draw from when it comes to New Zealand. I havent watched any of their games in over a year. I just know that Iran are a very solid defensive side who are tough to break down.
GL tonight

Agreed. Plus Iran want to make their people proud. I respect opti but new Zealand is not good. I guess it could be a draw. I just think the kiwis are horrible in d.

I did not think they would show that much self belief. And be genuinely disappointed to draw.
Didn't get my Wood goal sadly. But will ride the same idea and bet him again.
The next two games will be much bigger tests obv.

Yeah, I was surprised by that too. They didn't play like a team just hoping for a draw. Unlucky with the Wood bet, but if he keeps getting into those positions, I'd probably take another shot on him in the next match.

WC : France vs Senegal : 3pm
Over 2.5 @ 1.83 ( 2 units )
This should be the most competitive match of the day. Senegal are more then capable of holding their own , although keeping a clean sheet has been rare for them. Both teams to score & Over 2.5 has merit to it @ 2.50. Its 25c / 78f at kickoff in East Rutherford , NJ.

June 17 : England vs Croatia : 4pm est @ Arlington , TX
England @ 1.82 ( 2 units )
Im a huge fan of Modric , who is in the " Legend " status as a World class International. I also enjoyed watching Perisic and Kovacic alongside him in their midfield for many years. The problem in the year 2026 is the ages of 40 , 37 and 34 respectively. They will face , especially down their older left flank , Englands combo of Gordon ( 25 ) , Bellingham ( 22 ) , Saka ( 24 ) and Rice ( 27 ). The weather in Arlington , Texas during the game is a scorching 33c/ 94f , and not even 2 water breaks will bring you 90+ minutes of youth. I really see England's pace, against Croatia's older left flank , a big advantage.
