Xabi Alonso to Manage Real Madrid......inks a 3 year deal.
Having played for Real Madrid, and tasted the champagne of many Trophy celebrations, he will take over as manager next season. He took a mid table club like Bayer Leverkuesen and made them German champions , ending Bayern's 11 straight title run. He was hotly pursued by several big clubs like Liverpool and Bayern Munich only a year ago, and chose to stay another season in Germany. Real Madrid has a wealth of talent , and income ( Approx. $1.2 billion ) and suits his playing style to a tee. Its a marriage that could see the Pride of Spanish football restored to its recent glory. The Ch League final is May 31st , and next years prices should follow days later. He is a winner and worth backing at the right price imo

    Salud, franz:
    1) Happy for Xabi. Seems like a solid guy.
    2) One thing always struck me about Real Madrid. I got the sense that they care about Champ Lg much more than La Liga. So many minnow-teams in La Liga, it's like the two games vs Barcelona get all the spotlight.
    3) Will give one unpopular opinion. I'm not an Mbappe fan. If we compared him to an NBA player, I'd call him a high-usage player. Scores a lot of goals. Does he make his teammates better?
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Well said. Mbappe has all the tools, pace , skill , and he scores goals as you say. He doesnt make the players around him any better.

Salud, Franz. I loosely compare soccer to basketball. It's about ball-movement and player-movement. The best TEAMS optimize their scoring potential.

Appreciate your comments, Franz. Just my observation.

When you watch the BEST futbol players, you'd swear that they have the ball on a string. They have that much ball-control. I don't see that with Mbappe.

He'll have one more season to correct it. When you make that much money, you're under scrutiny.
