#142Worst post of the thread. Jordan was always doubled. He just jumped over or faded away if necessary. His vertical was so good he would just go straight up and you couldn't block it.Originally posted by Eddy MunnyJordan was on teams that allowed him to flourish because he had guys around him that were stalwarts and did the little things right that win basketball games.... defense, rebounding, timely buckets etc. Jordan really wasn't asked to guard the opponent's best player because that assignment was usually given to Scottie Pippen, who was one of the best, most versatile defenders ever.
Lebron doesn't have that luxury. If a guy on the other team proves unstoppable, Lebron inevitably draws that as his primary defensive responsibility. Oh and by the way, could you go out there and clean up the glass and drop 30 while you're at it? It's a lot to ask of one guy. Basketball is a TEAM sport. No matter how you spin it, one guy cannot go out and defeat five. Did anybody bother to chip in for the Heat besides Lebron? Bosh is far too finesse and Wade was an absolute nightmare this series. They have zero presence in the paint.
The Heat are not a good team. If you remove James, this hodgepodge roster of has-beens probably doesn't make the playoffs. They were good enough to get two rings when Wade and Chalmers actually had a pulse, but this team was exposed by a more talented, deeper, better coached Spurs squad. Does anybody really think Jordan in James's place would have yielded a different result? Nonsense.... Jordan would have been just jacking up shots while facing double and triple teams. And Jordan's presence would have done nothing to shore up the shitty defense that plagued the Heat all series.

#144WTF? Bad team? The Heat made it to the finals 4 years in a row. They have the 3 best players in the NBA. How the hell can you say he had a bad team? Are you serious?
I don't blame Lebron for the loss because he was the best player on the Heat. He played his heart out. But don't spin this like the Heat suddenly became a garbage team. The Spurs just made them look that way. Spoelstra didn't have an answer and neither did the Big 3.

#146But could Jordan guard a point guard all series, and then turn around and guard Karl Malone if asked to? Could he also be a leading rebounder and still have the wind to go out and score 30+? And would it even be enough if he didn't have competent teammates?Originally posted by raiders72001LeBron isn't close to the defender as Jordan. Jordan was a defensive player of the year, lead the league in steals 3 years and is a better shot blocker.
Stop it with this "Jordan was a better shot blocker" crap, it's a push. Is that really what you're going to hang your hat on? We've all seen James make many great blocks either in the paint, or to thwart a fast break. Don't try and sell me on Jordan's fractional sliver of an edge on the stat sheet. Use your eyes.Comment -

Wade looked like D-leaguer this series.
I'll give you Wade for Pippen, Bosh for Rodman, Chalmers for Armstrong, and Rashard for any one of Jordan's centers.... and you see how basketball games are won. This Heat team is soft, soft, soft, Charmin quilted soft.Comment -

#170Lebron looked great in this series because of stat padding when its garbage time. Not doing anything when it matters most (see Game 3&4). Too passive the whole series. Jordan, Bird, Kobe will do anything to keep this game close/win the game (shot more). Lebron just defers to his teammates and live and die whether his teammates will make the shot or not. Hell, if Lebron played just a lick of defense on Kawhi, it wouldn't be this bad. You just see Kawhi blowing by on Lebron, even guys like Mills and Green.

Probably wouldve made Bosh cry, got in a fight with Wade and Chamlers, bad mouthed Spolestra, took 40 shots in game 4, then 10 in game 5.
