I just skipped to the last page, this is a really long thread and I don't have time to read it all, but I do have time to leave a prediction. I'm willing to bet that donkeys like Laker boy and Vitter who have never played a sport in their life rushed to her defense, in true Kaepernick-esque forum.
I'll bet other non-athlete types like miny and Jibby got so worked about the black athlete that their hatred shone through brighter than ever.
Who really cares why she quit ....its not going to change anyone's political or religious stance and it's not going to change anyone's opinions or position.
We're too stubborn.
What really bothers me is that we somehow got to a point where she has to either be a loser failure disgrace or a brave and courageous role model.
It used to be people would hear news like this and say huh that's too bad, and move on. Not anymore

Jay - I like your post but I don't think many of us have seen or heard news like this??? I can't recall anyone quitting in the middle of a competition. I do recall an unknown boxer who went mental in the ring and wouldn't fight. Maybe you can refresh my memory of other cases? Especially at the Olympics, where the USA qualifications is just as stressful as the Olympics.
I don't view Biles as a failure. I view her as a quitter when faced with adversity. I don't think she should be disgraced but I also don't think she should be rewarded for this.Comment -

Great question. Who knows my friend? I don’t really know the culture of elite gymnastics or how close these girls are. Anything is possible. Probably the first guy on SBR to admit it but I also don’t really know what that pressure is like athletically. I wasn’t the guy or the 2nd guy. I played team sports but nobody was waiting for me to come through like that. I’m just a business dude. I’m better at business than athletics and I’m good with it. lolComment -

Mental health issues always have been, and should continue to be, private personal matters.
She should have said she hurt her ankle and been done.
By opening the can of worms she has invited critique that every amateur coach in every sport rails against
"I can tolerate physical errors, but will not tolerate mental ones"
She is a total failure to herself, her team and her country and embarrassed herself beyond repair by allowing the world to critique her mental stability and capacity.Comment -
Thats cool and all but her 2 medals doesn't hold up to biles 27. And yes biles won medals injured before try 2 broken toes. And yes Strugs came out yesterday in favor of biles. And yes Strugs didn't compete after that because she fuked herself. she got pressured into ruining her life.Comment -
