Jay - I like your post but I don't think many of us have seen or heard news like this??? I can't recall anyone quitting in the middle of a competition. I do recall an unknown boxer who went mental in the ring and wouldn't fight. Maybe you can refresh my memory of other cases? Especially at the Olympics, where the USA qualifications is just as stressful as the Olympics.

I don't view Biles as a failure. I view her as a quitter when faced with adversity. I don't think she should be disgraced but I also don't think she should be rewarded for this.

Great question. Who knows my friend? I don’t really know the culture of elite gymnastics or how close these girls are. Anything is possible. Probably the first guy on SBR to admit it but I also don’t really know what that pressure is like athletically. I wasn’t the guy or the 2nd guy. I played team sports but nobody was waiting for me to come through like that. I’m just a business dude. I’m better at business than athletics and I’m good with it. lol

She brought it on herself

Mental health issues always have been, and should continue to be, private personal matters.

She should have said she hurt her ankle and been done.
