The 1994 team was solid but not spectular. Bebeto and Romario were a nice duo. That was an actual team because Brazil had learned from the dissapointments of 1990/86/82 that talent alone wasn't winning. They had cohesion in 1994. The competition was weak though.

Agree. Brazil didn't face anyone serious up until the finals. Italy had a nice squad but old school defending Italy. All the really good players were on the defensive side and even then they almost made it, if it wasn't for Baggios shocking penalty miss.

Nothing beats 1990 Germany for me though. Stacked from top to bottom.

Argentina are a joke. They have midgets for strikers. The defense has no men with guile. They are slow at the back. Argentina used to be a team that was rough and difficult to play against. In the finals, Messi was triple teamed by the germans. Been watching soccer for close to 30 years, I've never seen any soccer player get triple teamed before.

Not sure what you're really getting at. Maradona won 2 world cups and is a straight legend, and is no where near the player that Messi is, but he's just higher, because of world cups. Remember how good Uruguay was when Diego Forlan Suarez and Cavani were all in their primes? Great fukking team, surprised everyone. Forlan came out of nowhere and was one of the best players of the tournament, bending free kicks at wicked angles and scoring some of the best goals we've ever seen.

But you get my point, that Messi is the superior player in terms of skill, accolades, anything, but Maradona having the world cup under his name and getting to finals, there's a huge debate as to who was better, and to me, it's a fair argument, because winning a world cup as the best player is the hardest thing to do in any sport.
