Having an outbreak was inevitable. How pro sports reacts is the key to preserving the season.

Even with the success so far of bubble leagues where American soccer and lacrosse has reported no positives after initial reporting, that does not mean sports without a bubble are doomed to failure.

Some have noted that I am “negative” on the bubble concept. That is not true. I am dubious as to the executability of a true bubble as evidenced by the NBA issues with Lou Williams hitting Magic City “for the wings” and have worry of all “eggs being in one basket”. An outbreak with one team if quick action is taken, can be contained. An outbreak inside the bubble could shut a league down immediately.

Well in that case, the people that do show symptoms still may not show them until 5-14 days after infection

Where as the flu is typically 2 days

mlb went through a lot of trouble to come back, but I do think we will see more of this all year, how much can they take is the question

as for college sports, they should be shut down for fall IMO

2 main event fights have been canceled already because of the virus right?

One of them for sure while the fighter was on the island, just a couple days before the event.

With that said, Dana has done a tremendous job with this island and keeping it as plague free as possible.

Hats off to him and the UFC.

They're saying that the Marlins decided to play the Phillies on Friday even after multiple players tested positive.

Only way NFL is played this year it's on an island. Find an uninhabited island in the Bahamas and build a football field. Then put the players on cruise ships around the island. The practices can be done on cruise ships and the games can be staggered to be played on the same field.

Baseball is unraveling today. They didn't make it a week. Other sports are toast now when they see baseball's example. Looks like Nascar and golf are the only thing that will be going on this year. Sucks I was so "head in the sand" with hopes of having football this year.

WWE has made it work for months with just a few speed bumps. They're more susceptible than football players would be because they are half naked out there already with similar contact. If anything, I think this signals to all players to take protocols more seriously. I'm sure it's going to come out that at least a couple of these Marlins were doing something similar to what Lou Williams did.
