Wow. Phillies will need to be tested too. You also have the Yankees rolling into town. How are they going to use that clubhouse?

I'm sure the clubhouse will be disinfected. MLB will have to make a decision quick. I don't see them cancelling the season that quickly. The infected folks can be back in action within 4 days if 2 negative tests 24 hours apart and no symptoms.

this is bad but not unexpected. the guys are not in a bubble. basketball and hockey doing it right.
plus florida has become almost ground zero for the virus now so you have to imagine the players went out and caught it and now it spreads like wildfire.

Great post, Blazer. More anecdotal evidence that this virus still has legs. People want to conveniently put it behind them.

you got players in baseball who are probably not taking this seriously at all. i bet some of the marlins are going to parties on the beach with their gold chains and the yeyo to get some big booty hoes. all it takes is one ho with a round ass and lips like a hoover.

Maybe some players from other sports will think twice before they try to get a booty call. Ramifications for their careers could be disastrous if they were the one responsible for the cancellation of a season.

Florida is such a shit show.
How the fukk did they manage this so badly? It is all over if one of those coaches becomes seriously ill.
Mattingly is 59 years old, Stottlemeyer is 57, and Rowson is in his late 40s.
Not good.

he Miami Marlins' home opener against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night has been canceled, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan, as coronavirus cases continue to pop up among the team. Eight more players and two coaches with the Marlins have tested positive for the coronavirus, as an outbreak has spread throughout their clubhouse and brought the total cases in recent days to at least 14, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN. The Marlins remain in Philadelphia and continue to undergo testing after their weekend series there. On Sunday, four Marlins players tested positive for the coronavirus, including that day's starter, Jose Urena, according to sources familiar with the situation, leading the team to delay its postgame trip home amid concerns about a possible outbreak. The Marlins were already going to be without the services of Urena, catcher Jorge Alfaro, who was placed on the injured list before their season opener on Friday, infielder Garrett Cooper and outfielder Harold Ramirez. Before the Marlins' opening series in Philadelphia, the team played a an exhibition game in Atlanta on Wednesday. It's also possible that the infections occurred there.

thats nothing when you have 300 travelling to an event
plus coaches, plus clubhouse employees, plus grounds crew (bunker rakers, greens mowers and cup cutters touching flags), volunteers finding golf balls and security at events all of which arent getting tested
then you have hotels where they recommend you stay, but is not mandatory
plus qualifiers who only get in AFTER they qualify and only tested after that

and.... atleast 1 or 2 were false positives
also, most of the time golfers only get breakfast and lunch..dinner is for them to get
whereas mlb travel as a full team, stay at same hotel, and eat at same place

I predicted this a long time ago. There is a reason MLS is doing a bubble. MLB thought they are smarter. This is what happens when the owners are Republican idiots.

True, which is why it’s damn near impossible for baseball, basketball and football players to socially distance. If one gets it, they all could.

The NBA bubble could pop any day now as well as players are getting restless and sneaking out to strip clubs now.

The ball is touched by the catchers and pitchers which are the first to catch the virus and then is spread in the bullpens and dugouts by pitchers and catchers.
