#143We know that trump won pa, mich and wisc by a combined 77,000 votes. That’s with the “lock her up” lie, Russian assistance, idiots relying on Facebook for news. Anybody but Hillary would have beaten trump, including Bernie. The Comey announcement and the widespread lies about Clinton was the death of her. Trumptards should carry Comey around on their shoulders.Comment -

#144It really is a good test of whether or not someone has a grip on what's been happening here, on whether or not there is a clue of the pulse of the country.
"If Bernie had won the nomination, he would have beat Trump."
Agree, or disagree?
Anyone who thinks that it is remotely possible, I would suggest, has a narrow view of the pulse of the country and the electoral college.
Extremely narrow. Also, probably not on point with critical thinking when dealing with statistics, at least for this topic.
If you're suggesting that Trump would have definitely beat Bernie... you're no better than the people that suggest that Bernie would have definitely beat Trump.
NOBODY KNOWS. That's the only objective answer.Comment -

#146If Trump and Bernie were to take a head to head IQ test. What would you set the line at?
I don't think most voters care about intelligence much... if at all. If they did, Buttigieg would be the front-runner right now.
Instead... I think most voters vote for who they most identify with. This is very evident in the political forum on SBR. Virtually all the Trump supporters over there act just like Trump.Comment -

Understand that we're getting there, but the country isn't lurching that far yet and certainly would not have in 2016. Be realistic, it didn't even have momentum. There was even a movement to stop Bernie within the Democratic pary itself.
Not to mention several campaigns worldwide have aided in stalling the movement on a more global level. All of them, including Trump's, were related.
Why even try to give Bernie a chance in 2016, his own party didn't. Unreal.
Maybe you are just trolling, or maybe you have a political preference and it's clouding the obvious for you, after all the notion for 2016 is pretty ridiculoius.
I'm not speaking from any type of political preference, maybe that's why it's hard to find any ground, even obvious ground, with the political posters. They are all so jaded with there own ideology.Comment -

Acting like it's a toss up of some kind ignores so much.
Foolish to even bring it up, and to say "nobody knows" shows a gross lack of insight into what happened in the 2016 election.
That's what I'm suggesting.Comment -

Bernie obviously a smart guy too. But part of his appeal is his belief in his ideology, and when he gets questioned about it his answers too often come across as like someone relying on faith he is correct than having hard evidence to base his ideas on. I think he kind of waffles a lot basically. And if you aren't already behind him as a person, he comes across as a bit flaky. I am sure he is smart to have achieved what he has but he does not present well..Comment -

#158My suggestion is that any poll Bernie would beat Trump is made in a world where Trump never campaigned against Bernie.

If you gave the people a choice of which brick to throw. IMO its Sanders.
Quote from a W.V voter. We knew that Trump was a Yankee that needed his ass beat a long time ago. But Hillary offered us nothing.Comment -

But we are on a sportsbetting forum... people pretend to know unknowable things all day every day. This is why we see clowns on here with "Guaranteed lock" type picks. They're completely broke but they pretend to know more than the sharpest sportsbooks that are worth billions. Makes perfect sense.

#160In 2016 maybe, but can imagine the attacks over being socialist might have taken him down too.
I'm guilty of thinking Trump was a bit dumb when it came to lots of subjects. But I think his IQ would probably turn out to be pretty high now in hindsight. Not that I like his tactics or his way, but it's become clear he really did have more of a plan than many realized and that what he wanted to happen really is happening in many areas.
Bernie obviously a smart guy too. But part of his appeal is his belief in his ideology, and when he gets questioned about it his answers too often come across as like someone relying on faith he is correct than having hard evidence to base his ideas on. I am sure he is smart to have achieved what he has but he does not present well.Trump and his supporters are very proud of this map. It looks impressive. Trump won a lot of counties... approximately 84% of them I believe. Yet... he somehow lost the popular vote. What does this tell you? It tells you that Trump won all the rural areas... BUT... we know he didn't win the popular vote... so that means he lost the more densely populated areas. That's all this map says. That's it.

No candidate stood a chance.
But you're right, we don't know. But to think it would even be a toss up ignores simply too much.
And as a gambler, yes, I understand more than most the effectiveness of the tools used.

Democratic party really doesn't like Bernie as a whole, they will find a way to rail road him again like in 2016. I kinda feel sorry for the old fart to be honest..

#167Many people didn't vote. 1/2 the country. Some that did vote left the presidential spot blank. People hated both Trump & Hillary, Sanders would have given them something to vote for.
Just what would Trump say in a campaign with Sanders? Hell Trump stole half his agenda & ran to the left of Hillary.Comment -
