#80First of all, the Rio hotel rooms really suck!
I can stay there for free and I dont do it anymore. Guys penetrate UBER and just rent a car while in Vegas. You can rent a car for around $15 a day for an economical car. I rent a car everytime that I go to Vegas and it saves alot of money.
But I will make it out for this event. I usually fly in around July 1st but looks like I will fly in twice this year. Airfare from Houston is way less than $180 roundtrip and my rooms are free.
I REALLY like the tournament on June 4th. It is a $1000 Bounty tournamentComment -

I felt like everything was a bit of a hassle when staying at Paris one time, even though it's slap bang center strip. Those big resorts are designed to keep you just there.
Anyway, it appears a few of us will be making a firm decision by mid March.

#82Talking with Matt it appears the plan will be to arrive in time to play the final flight that starts at 11am on Sunday 2nd June. So arrive 1st or 2nd June and checkout Fri 7th (which is final table day for this tourney).
Travelling by myself I really prefer Downtown. Easy safe walk to 6 or 8 casinos and a couple of poker rooms and loads of eating choices.

As for places to stay....I’m pretty flexible. The downtown area hotels have some great prices during that time. Both the Golden Nugget and Downtown Grand are nice enough for a single guy to stay at.
I would consider somewhere where on the Strip if that’s what everyone wanted to do. So I guess I’ll see what others are doing.Comment -

I know beerdog is out as he’d rather spend time with his wife on their Anniversary in the Mediterranean. Obviously has his priorities wrong.Comment -

#98I had expected to have won enough to pay for it on a bookmaker V card by now, but Feb hasn't gone as expected, yet. I'm not as keen if I can't kid myself it's won money I am using instead of real money, so give me another couple of weeks to keep trying before I have to get real..Comment -

If all falls through...I will still get my Vegas fill in September when I’m meeting up with some of my old Navy buddies. However both trips would be fun - and the wife has officially approved both.Comment -

#101If we all wanted to take each others stacks we'd play in WSOP..
The best of best poker players trying to take each others rolls in the WSOP is laughable. It's a look at me shit show until they get bumped off.
These guys should find games is some back woods poker game rooms constantly and make money that way if they are that skilled. Grind out that rent money.Comment -

Rather get the time over with. Hopefully he wins but damn, that’s a long shot usually. By the time that comes, he could have had a few months done with and be looking to get out for football season.Comment
