Miami's was much, much worse. Michigan lost on the road to a really good football team and had a shot to tie at the end. Miami lost to a so-so team at a neutral site and was destroyed.Comment -
Notre Dame has a really good team this year. Defensively they are tough. What's killed them in past years has been injuries at the end of the season and they've had problems in those final road games at Stanford and USC. Another problem for them this year is they have a very tough schedule. They have to play Va. Tech and USC on the road (and Va Tech looks really good tonight). They also have Stanford, Florida State and I believe Boston College. That's not even counting a road game at NW who will prolly be a top-20 team this year. So while I think this ND team is a top-10 talent team, their schedule is a big obstacle. They'll kill my Navy boys, though, this year

I watched Miami LSU.

Florida State and Miami were an embarrassment.
Michigan isn't even in the conversation. Their offense was tough to watch but that wasn't a shocker. Miami and FSU had returning starters at quarterback in neutral and home fields respectively. Shea Patterson was making his first start in a Michigan uniform on the road in a tough environment, absent one UM's best WR's who was injured in preseason.
Michigan's biggest lapses came after the defense had made plays on fourth down to force a punt only to have Notre Dame get a reprieve due to personal fouls and automatic first downs which they then turned into big plays shortly thereafter. The two teams really weren't that far apart, save for those big swing plays, and finished with approximately the same total yardage.Comment -

Thought it was one of the worst debuts I’ve ever seen. He looked completely lost and unwilling to adjust to what VT was doing. The OL was getting destroyed. He just kept doing the same shit over and over hoping for a different result.
Not ready to give up on him after one game, but they have to improve or I give him two years.
Done? For this season it looks like it. The cubbard is hardly bare there, they’ll keep getting top 10 classes. It won’t mattet if the playcaling is buffoonery and the OL is ass. They need some OL and have since they won the titleComment
