I took my wife for a birthday brunch in Port Dover ( For any Canucks who know it ... Eh ! ). No TV anywhere in the place so i couldnt pull out the cell phone until she finally went to the washroom. Another crazy day at the World Cup.......from a gamblers perspective anyway. Its true about no respect for the minnows , but in reality....Portugal....Uruguay and Spain all won...... 3 points , what else do they really care about. We are the ones cursing at some powerhouse who didnt pound some minnow so we could all cover gambling lines

Best bet around here was the 3 team parlay. I saw a few guys posting it for + $$$. And there were a few people scoffing at playing parlays.

I am just another dummy expecting the Big Bullies to step on the dweeb. Maybe its time to rethink things in the remaining two rds ? I have to disagree with who really has something to fight for tho. I think everybody still has lots to play for until you are raising the trophy.

Franz, I like the way this tournament is developing. Still wide-open. I don't think the early draws hurt the big teams too much.

As for a team like Germany who picked up the shock loss, now no margin for error. Very short tournament.

Denmark have not conceded a goal in their last 5 games ( 3Wins 2Draws ) , beating teams like Peru , Mexico and Panama. Although they were fortunate to beat Peru , who missed a PK and numerous scoring opportunities , they got the much needed 3 points. They are a very disciplined team who strike on the counter with precision , through players such as Kvist , Poulson or the very talented Erikson. Australia held their own against a very deep France side , who seem to be confused on the best way to attack Australia. Coach Deschamps chose to insert players with speed , such as Dembele , over a true #9 like Giroud , who adds size as well. They continued to drive the attack through the wings and seldom crossed into the area since it was covered by a sea of very tall Australians. Australia will need to get a win today, so parking the bus and hoping for counter attack opportunities wont work as a game plan. It plays into Denmarks strength.

France vs Peru : 11am est

I have no idea why people continue to underestimate this Peru side. They are a very talented side that play the game with true passion. They were very unfortunate to lose their first round game against Denmark , and now find themselves needing to upset France in order to stay alive in this competition. I am not saying that they will beat France , although i wont rule it out , but i do see them attacking as they did in the 2nd half vs Denmark. I would love to see Guerrero inserted in the starting line up , since he is an absolute beast of a forward imo. Either way , this game should be a very free flowing affair. So.......

I felt the same way about Morocco and Portugal yesterday. And when Ronaldo netted in the 3rd minute the word " Lock " seemed to be appropriate.
