Actually the Supreme Court has already ruled on this decades ago. An employer, public or private CANNOT force employees to pray, pledge, stand, kneel what have you if it not part of their beliefs. Unless the employer is a religious institution, it would be unlawful to force people to pledge.

This entire debate is a crock of shit. We have too many damn anthems being played any damn way. Who the hell said we have to play the anthem before every sporting event? Our community voting ballot booth played the anthem before they opened up the ballots, WTF? The shit is watered down. You are an absolute nut if you stand by yourself in your home before the dozens of anthems that were played today. But, if you do stand and I sit, that does not make you more patriotic. We are all Americans. The hypocrite is the one that puffs themselves up as better than everyone else because they are "Real" Americans. You are no better than me and I'm not better than you. We are all Americans and we all have a voice. If you want to voice in protest, knock yourself out. You have every right to do so. I choose to stand, which is my right as well.

It's not going to work. This isn't a First Amendment issue and what you are referring to would fall under current anti discrimination laws.

They are not the same thing.

Even if they tried to argue discrimination, the moment they speak out about it in an interview an employer, as they always could, could take action, thought they wouldn't.

They have always restricted the political views, this isn't much different.

Like I said before, everyone will get used to them kneeling, it will takeaway from the activism. They need to concentrate efforts on the issues, and stop getting on Sportscenter for kneeling. The creation of awareness is faltering for sure.

Call it what you want, I was merely pointing out that the owners of these leagues CANNOT force any player to stand, kneel, pray, not pray, etc. They have zero grounds to demand any acts that can be construed as religious or against workers rights. Trump is trying to tell owners to do something that they legally cannot do.

But let me say again. Just because I stand but you sit, does that make me more patriotic than you? Should every person in your house stand for multiple anthems being played today? Should someone paralyzed stand? Should someone sick try to stand? Should someone pregnant? Have you been to a stadium lately? A lot of fans do not stand and most never put their hands on their hearts. What should we do about these malcontents? Call them out in public? Lock them up? Beat them up?
