The Patriots defensive prowess is overstated going into this game... This is not an elite unit.

Are they good? Sure... Better than the Falcons defense? That's probably fair.

But the Atlanta Falcons offensively are "matchup proof." It's just like those guys you have in fantasy football whose matchups are irrelevant because they always produce in virtually any scenario... Your Aaron Rodgers, and your David Johnsons, Antonio Browns etc.

It would take a historically good defense to stop the Atlanta Falcons in a dome on Super Sunday and the Patriots' D is far from that. If you're using that as your "edge" to bet the Pats, then I think you're sorely misguided.

This game is probably going to come down to a couple plays that are impossible to handicap.

You make some valiant points. My initial lean was to the over, thinking this high-powered Falcons offense would be tough to contain. But you know, giving Belichick two weeks to prepare can make a world of difference. Look what he did to that Rams team back in 2002.

Getting to 59 is a lot of points.

That said, they might get there by the end of the third.
