#37I don't blame you for that. Sorry if I insulted you... I was just a little emotional, refreshing the voting map, not believing my eyes.
It isn't just the UK. People here in the US are frustrated and are prepared to slam their proverbial dikks in the door as well.
Good night.

#41Pound down to historic lows.
Scotland and Ireland about to break away from the UK
Looks like the nationalist scare mongers spooked the people into voting for their own demise just so a political ideology could score points against the incumbent govt.
Start the countdown to the whinging and finger pointing when it turns out UK has no more control of its borders than it does now, still has to follow EU rules if it wants to do any business and costs to the people stay the same or go up.
I bet just about everyone denies it was them voting YES within 12 months.
Bright move from the poms... (sarcasm).Comment -

#49Packerd, one thing that I keep hearing is that the vast majority of parliament, the elected officials, had voted to stay in EU.
Those are the officials who suppose to represent regular guys like yourself. How are they going to continue to earn your trust after all this?
Is there that big of a disconnect between government and the British people? It almost feels like this vote was a mini revolution for you guys.Comment -

Whilst the powers that be negotiate away most of the things people based their vote for Brexit on, the uncertainty is going to leave Brits out on a limb in the world economically. Big companies are going to shelve any plans to expand and particularly manufacture there almost immediately until the situation is sorted out. Devaluation of the pound will help for a short period but once entrenched it could very well hamstring UK growth for a very long time.
Scotland may not mean much to Brits right now but if they do bail out of the UK and stick with the EU I predcit a good chance many Brits want to move there for the economic boom that will happen in the place..Comment -

I was apologizing to packerd. That had nothing to do with you. As far as losing money--I don't have any positions specifically related to the referendum. I am a long-term investor.
My frustration is that this will only cause more harm to an already fragile global economy. People are frustrated because the economy sucks, and that is understandable. But they don't inform themselves, rather, they soak up conspiracy theories and seem to think that the correct answer is doing the opposite of what the establishment suggests without knowing what the actual consequences are. Google reported that in Britain theres was a huge spike in the search "what happens if we leave the eu" after the polls closed. It is unreal.
Opti is right on point.Comment -

Obama: "UK - you're going to vote 'Stay' or go back to the queue when it comes to trade deals"
Hillary: "It takes the world to raise an English village"
Polls: "LEAVE vote has no chance"
Ladbrokes: "STAY is the chalk"
1% & media: "A LEAVE vote would be a disaster"
Trump: "This is up to the voters, but I personally think it would be nice to see such a great people take their country back."
UK voters: "We'll take it from here, thanks"
