What other sports would he be great in? I don't really see any. To be the greatest athlete of all time you would at least have the potiential to be great in other sports. Example Lebron could be an NFL Player, left fielder in baseball, soccer player or pretty much anything else in the sports world. Messi is the greatest soccer player ever though.

Well name a few where you think he fits? He would really need to bulk up to be a woodhead type player perhaps in the NFL but I really don't think messi could be a RB, don't think he could break tackles.

I think he could play goalie well in soccer. Baseball is the easiest of them all, most multi sport athletes combine baseball and another sport.

we have no proof that messi can throw or anything of the sort. Not sure how he would fair in sports that involve use of the arms.

Look at his arms and shoulders. Did you know that you use your shoulders and arms to run and balance while dribbling the ball?

Look at the goalies. They can throw the ball from goal to midfield. Messi can do that too if he was playing goalie.

I think if he really tried he'd be a decent Centreback. He'd have to slim down obviously. There have been decent players his height. Zigic, Crouch and Issaksson are decent tall players that come to mind

Baseball the most difficult sport to compare. Hitting is the most difficult skill to pick up. Look at Jordan. One of the most skilled athletes we have ever seen but can't hit major league pitching. Can be an unremarkable athelete and still be a solid hitter.

It's like golf. More based on skill than athleticism. Look at Altuvé. Nothin special about the guy athletically. He is just gifted hitter.

Steve Nash and Jason Kidd from NBA , actually could of been soccer players today.
Steve Nash in summer breaks used to play for NYRB warm up games. he said himself, he could of went into soccer, if not some turnarounds..
And Jason Kidd used to play at high school. he has resemblance with Messi

Crazy to say anyone would be as good as messi. Guys a once in a life time talent. Could have been great in any sport that didn't require size. Soccer one of the last sports where being small doesn't hamper your ability to be elite. Even hockey, it's rare that guys are that size and weight and are elite. Guy has skills beyond what we have ever seen.l but skills don't make or break your atletic career. Look at all the NCAA basketball kids who don't make it cuz they don't have the size.

Take a guy like St Louis' Jordair Jett. Guy had the skills, but not the size to go to NBA. Type of player he was, had he been 6'4-'6 he would have been crazy to pass up. Guy was a tank with strength and ability to get to the rim, just wasn't the right body for the NBA. Could have been a running back, that kid.
