I'm 6'0 195 and am definitely stronger than either of these two guys. That said, they'd kill me in a real fight. Still, I cant imagine being that tall and only weighing 145 pounds. That just isnt healthy. 5'9 145 for a man = not a good look.

If anything, the non-weight cut should have favored Conor. he is too small for that weight class.

Nate can give a good standing boxing match with anyone in the UFC. He can stand there and take 1001 punches as well.
I was surprised that they they gave Diaz $500,000 just to fight in this match, with no winning bonus; the guy only made $40,000 in his last fight and that was with the 20k/20k win bonus.

Fight took a 180 when Diaz landed the one punch. Connor was very shook and Diaz started piling on major shots while McGregor was having trouble even getting his hand ups to defend while also taking small steps backwards. Diaz went straight for the kill took him to the wall then once he hit the ground, fight over.

McGregor cut Diaz over his right eye in the first round and he was leaking heavily, even moreso in the second with his entire side of the face covered in blood. Was looking inevitable that McGregor would finish the knockout/tko in 2nd or at worst early 3rd round, then Diaz lands the one punch.

Got to give credit to Diaz, even with bloody dripping down blocking his vision he never really backed down or changed his hard attack. Also think Connor's yapping during the fight caught up with him, I just don't quite understand why fighters do this. Not the biggest UFC fan so haven't seen that many fights, but certainly recall Silva getting knocked out by Weidman while yapping and acting like a fool.

McGregor was very humble and a graceful loser, which was great to see. Stated he did a poor job of being energy efficient, whereas Diaz was.

Two friends I was watching with lost a heartbreaking parlay. Both played $20 to win 950 on Tate, Diaz and over 2.5 rounds. If McGregor held on until 3rd round, I still think he would have been knockedout, I assume he was concussed on the punch by Diaz. Great night of fighting nonetheless.

To each his own. I enjoy UFC but I'm also a boxing aficionado. I watch both and appreciate what these athletes go through to prepare. They both are brutal sports and by never knowing what will happen or who will win is the big draw for me. Who knew Tate and Diaz would both win last night? Who knew Buster Douglas would win in Tokyo? I love the sweet science of boxing and I appreciate the mental grind of 12 rounds. Sure boxing can be a frustrating watch BUT so can UFC.

I'm not sure why some UFC folks feel the need to talk boxing down? If you don't like it just don't watch it. Striking/boxing is a big part of UFC fighting. Why would you put down what UFC fighters do 80% of the time? Small penis complex?

He was never going to do that though. That's not his style at all.

Not true, he was more of a counter striker when he fought at 155, and he now knows that needs to be his style if he wants to be champion of the higher weight classes. He use to pick guys off, he fought uncharacteristically diffrent in this fight, what He did last night, wasn't His style.

That's exactly what I said in the other thread. Doesnt change the fact that he doesnt leg kick, doesnt have a jab. If a fighter changes his style radically for 5 fights straight, one can't expect him to suddenly go back to what he did in the past. Conor was going to come out pressuring. Just thought that would be enough, and didn't see him gassing that hard at all. - But that's what happens when you pack so much muscle and weight on a frame that's not used to it.
Boxers usually jump weightclasses 2-3 pounds at a time, go back down, then go back up etc. What Mcgregor did was ballsy as penetrate, but his body wasn't there for him. One of his coaches should have told him this is how it works, instead of hitting him with foam poolnoodles and doing this shit:
