So backing the Country you grew up in where I personally have enjoyed a great life, living the American dream, owned business and property, family, enjoyed any faith I so chose, etc.. and this doesn't give me the right to be Patriotic and stand behind it? It's a virtue to me and others that served in the military..

If America crumbled today the entire financial world would crumble with it, make no mistake about that..Just look at the stock market crashes.... While our system is flawed in many ways I still believe this is the best Country in the world for financial opportunity, variety of cultures, raw space, free religious beliefs, landscape scenery, education, weather, decently fair law system, and homeland security., etc... Other Countries do have great things to offer up as well.. I could go on and on but I wont.. I'll ask you this - Why do you think the American borders are constantly under attack more then any other Country in the world? The American Dream is still alive pal that's why... You don't know how good you have it until you lose it..

There are other Countries in the world that I find absolutely amazing and filled with rich history and culture.. People are friendly and openly kind as well even to Americans... America is only what 300 years old now and really a baby on the world map, but for some reason this Country sprung into greatness over all others in a very short time with out ruthlessly taking over the world.. We did give the Indians and Mexicans the ruthless boot though which was not cool back in the day.

America isn't so bad fellas trust me.... YES I'M PATRIOTIC!!

Has no business running a forum yet employs several of Donalds techniques including persuasion and making posters see beyond the post (ie making you believe those chucky cheese tokens were worth hunreds of dollars when in fact they were worth far less than that).

The sale he wants to make here is that Opie is a successful game of skill tester managing a vast empire of tokens through his own making. The exact amount of the chucky cheese tokens is irrelevant.

The hundreds of dollars estimate Opie used to value his chucky cheese tokens net worth is an 'anchor' in your mind. Its a classic persuasion/negotiation method.

We remember the 'hundreds of dollars' estimate because it is big, round and sounds outrageous for a chucky cheese game of skill machine. And at the time he kept repeating it too, knowing that repetition is also persuasion...

Posters might be concerned that exaggerating one's value of Chucky cheese tokens is lying and the forum world will not like a liar. But keep in mind that Opie's value proposition is that he will make the forum great.

In other words he wants to bring the same sort of persuasion to the question of SBR's reputation in forum land and no doubt that concept sounds appealing to some posters. The forum needs good brand management whether you think Opie is the right person or not. Obviously he knows the forum needs good execution as well, not just brand illusion as a strong brand gives you better leverage for getting what you want.

And what did you think of opies now infamous video humiliating JJgold? The video was intended to forever paint Opie as SBR's resident bully BUT Opie quickly and cleverly set the anchor as JJGold, a name he could be sure was not popular with his core redneck crowd of posters.

He then went on to casually admit without hesitation that he meant to bury JJ Gold and has said and done other bad things to other posters as well.

Now do you see how the 'anchor' works? If the idea that Opie beats on small overweight bald males had been allowed to pair in your mind with guys you know and think are cool then you would hate Opie. That jerk is against horseshoes, obesity and some of my friends. But Opie never let that happen. At the first moment (and you have to admit he thinks fast) Opie inserted the JJ gold anchor and owned the conversation from that point on.

Now he's not the jerk that insults sbr's favourite posters, he's the straight talker who won't hesitate to insult posters who have it coming (in his view).
