I do feel for the Pirates, they ran into a buzz saw. There has been some people that say that the seeding should be totally on record and not by division winners. i tend to agree.

BTW, Bum has never ever started on 2 days' rest after a start.

He did come in relief on the WS closeout, but like I said, that's a different animal. You can do that at the end of the WS -- you don't do that at the beginning of the playoffs. Plus, this way if Cubs beats Cards he is lined up to go 1/4/7 in NLCS on 3 days' rest between in-series. Now that is something a stud does do.

Your focus in the playoffs should always be do what you need to do to advance. What good does it do to have your pitching set up for a series that doesn't happen.

Within reason, yes. But has any pitcher ever started a game on 2 days' rest after pitching a CG? Like in the last 100 years? I mean, let's get real. It doesn't happen. 3 days happens. 2 days does not.
