net worth=talent isn't much of an argument...look at the Kardashians, Paris Hilton etc etc

Can't stand to watch him sing - he looks like he's in pain.

[QUOTE=VeggieDog;24542459]Can't stand to watch him sing - he looks like he's in pain.[/QUO certainly a legend (to most) who have been to his concerts and enjoyed his few hit songs back in the day. he was well promoted when he started out some 40 years back and managed to ride the crest to a unbelievable successful career putting on concerts (mainly). a talented entertainer yes, but to actually hear him try to sing is painful.

He's the beneficiary of a great public relations marketing campaign that created the perception that he is the ultimate in "cool" and if you aren't in the club (i.e. one of his adoring fans) you are un-hip and a square.

All in all a very mediocre talent who would have been performing in Ramada Inn lounges his entire career were it not for the marketing apparatus creating the mystique lemmings (the dumbed down public) love to lap up.

probably had the best public relations marketing campaign in history. it worked. lured in countless number of fans who continue to overpay to see him perform his old tired act. probably enjoyable to go to one of his concerts, i'll never know. his name sells tickets not his talent.

                                    Conspiracy theory?

The no talent stiff is not important enough to figure into any conspiracy. He has a great marketing and public relations team and that is business strategy not a conspiracy. Nothing wrong with that if you can make it work and he did. Good for him.

But putting on a USA flag bandanna and screaming into a microphone doesn't make one a talented musician. Sorry if that hurts your tender feelings but he is what he is.

Now good whack off to his poster which you have taped to your bedroom wall junior.

A Dissenting View on the Mythicization of Bruce Springsteen

" He’s the Tim Tebow of music: not very good, but different enough from the rest to stand out. He’s a piece of toilet paper clinging to the bottom of American culture’s shoe. And because he’s remained stuck there so long, we’ve attached undeserved meaning to him."

"I also recall during the 2008 presidential election when Bruce endorsed Barack Obama and appeared at a campaign stop with the then-Illinois senator somewhere outside Philadelphia.

It was a surreal moment – the Harvard elitist and “community organizer” (who never worked a single day at a real job in his entire life) and the aging, washed-up, filthy-rich rock star speaking up on behalf of the “common people.” The hypocrisy was so overwhelming it nearly choked the skies above Pennsylvania."
