What was a fluke was the Tyree helmet catch.

If his last name wasn't manning he'd be considered an avg nfl Qb at best ...

Let's compare him to other players at the position. Now, I'm not saying he's in the top top tier, but some of the comments on here are hysterical. Look at a team like the Bills who haven't had a decent player at the position since the early 90s, or the Jets and Dolphins for that matter. The Giants running game has been awful, and their defense swiss cheese.

Easily a top 10 QB and with a better defense and a semblance of talent in the backfield he's top 5.

Top five QB's in the game today (no praticular order)

          Brady
          Rodgers
          Brees
          99 year old Peyton Manning
          Andrew Luck

The following QB's you can make a case for are better than Eli, and at the very least belong in the same sentence as Eli.

          Rivers
          Romo
          Kaepernick
          Ryan
          Flaco
          Cam Newton

I got Rivers 6th best, where one wants to slot Eli between 7 and 12 is all a matter of personal opinion.
I'll say it one more time, Eli has had only two elite seasons, sorry, does not make him an elite.

Until his agent says it or manning I don't believe the report one but. This is just to drum up nfl talk by the media. But he should be paid higher then rivers and on the same level as Big Ben and just under Rodgers and Wilson. Mannings have so much money I just doubt these are words out of mannigs mouth

And a Welker drop from being a no time mvp. An elite quarterback should make the playoffs every year in that piss poor division.

Saying Kapernick belongs in the same sentence as Eli when hes had an all league defense and a crack receiving core is border line slanderous. Eli is in the the 6-8 range I think and based on the team needs of the Giants most likely he should get paid.

If I was a Giants GM I would give him a pay cut. What other team will sign him as the highest paid in the league?

Kaepernick isn't even top 20 the way he played last year. Anyone not putting Ben in the top 5 can't be taken seriously.

I would definitely take all of these guys for this season over Eli.....He's good enough to win and ups his game in the playoffs but his INTs cannot be overlooked.....Also needs great protection to succeed which he hasn't had for a while I admit

I would say him and Flacco are the next best then maybe Kaepernick....Bridgewater I expect to also make a big jump this season

4 out of the top 12 out of your list dont have a super bowl. Would you rather have a qb that comes up big in the playoffs or someone who looks good on the stats sheet. I would rather have the first.

also remember the last time people laughed at him when he said he was as good as brady before the season started. Hmmm what did he do that year?

Superbowl isn't the end all be all when comparing qbs.....Giants D-line/Pass rush was the main reason for their playoff runs and that's the truth

Eli is overall decent but those qbs are better at this point in time.

A list that has josh mcCown, jay cutler, and Stan humpries in the top 100 is bogus. I saw them all play. Definitely not top 100 qb's no matter what scale you use.

One thing you guys always forget with these stupid QB ranking lists, it's not like the Giants can choose between Eli and Rodgers. If the Giants don't want to pay Eli, who else is available? Realistically, it's 1.Eli 2.Nassib 3.Stanzi, that's the list for the Giants. Maybe Giants go bad ass and franchise tag Eli in 2016 then tear it all down and draft some QB or something, I dunno. Those are the options, it's not a choice between Eli and some other top 10 guy. With guys like Rivers getting a max contract, I don't think any top 20 NFL QB is going to hit the open market any time soon.

Now, if we are talking about betting something like an MVP prop, which is basically MVQB, I'll take Ben +2000 right now.

It's really close actually from like QBs 6-13 or so..I get it if people rank Flacco or Eli higher than some of my guys

Eli is in a great spot to negotiate. Successful bank robbers will be jealous of him.

Locking in Eli will help the Giants win some games against the Redskins. Might help too against Dallas & Philly if/when they have debacles.

But it will have zero impact leaguewide. He's getting paid on past superbowl wins. Must be nice.
