let's make this an epic football season.
Chirico f'd me. how typical, she was on fire in Washington
then goes to Toronto and poops on the court. I have little
appetite for these "foreplay" tournaments before the US Open.
Of course, the softball team I had as a dog is winning 9-0.
Listing accumulated odds now on the last completed leg.
Mission III: $2.50, 25 slots.
1. Tulsa Shock +15.5 (-700)

#73extremely convenient for plugging into a mission after a missed leg or two...saves a lot of wear and tear on the fingers and calculator-battery
__________
love the "off the radar" team sports, esp the V-ball...lowest variance team-game on the planet betting-wise=the least "interfered with" officiating-wise...
"weird shit" kills bankrolls in general (and late stages of parlays especially-heartbreakingly so)...and the czars of NFL and NBA are always working overtime to make each year's version more weird than the previous...with their increasingly hard to understand/explain (and even harder to interpret) non-stop rollout of "new rules"...
how can a pass be completed (or even NOT completed) in the NFL these days without a STRONG chance that there'll be some goddam PI-flag on the play, in effect rewarding one team heavily/penalizing the other team heavily on nuances so subjective replays have to be pored over frame by frakin' frame
Volleyball, by contrast, remains strangely determined by--get this--actual players' performances...not by "officiating" that tends to get weirder as the game situation gets more important...Last edited by fitguy67; 08-09-15, 10:45 PM.Comment -

#78Boring day.. but at least the most advanced mission went up a tick.
I should have been more aggressive today, because no lie, all 6 of my leans
in Montreal won, but I didn't bet them. Montreal and Toronto should be worth
betting later in the week when we KNOW who's going to show up and who
is just there to mess around. World sports are really in a dry zone now.

#81ya gotta love V-ball...last two modest faves (-175 and -270) took care of business with no sweat...compare that to how much faves in basketball, tennis, and fighting (even MUCH more expensive faves like fukkin' "Maddening" Keys or "urBoned" Stephens)...where you generally are made to suffer multiple heart palpitations and aneurisms en route to any win you're made to feel "lucky" to get (even with the astronomical-price you paid for it)...
In addition to following along as closely as possible with all your missions, I'm gonna set up a side-project "for fun" parlay of all your V-ball plays only, wherever/whenever they may show up in your official missions
______________
Stakhovsky yesterday almost -500 tried his best to destroy the health of anyone who backed him, but at least had the common decency to scrape thru against someone hundreds of places below him...i'd be surprised that Zverev at almost -300 will even bother to put up a fight now after losing a s1TB...(update: he did, cue the "allelujah chorus")
in an individual sport if the player is off in any way you're fukt...but in V-ball the prob of u all being "off" at the same time is negligible...a good team is damn-near always a good team...can't say the same about a good player...who are VERY (ie. surprisingly more often than the price you're paying would suggest) often NOT good (period...& absolutely without others to pick up the slack and minimize the damage of them not being "in form")
loving your V-ball plays more and more as the highest-of-value parlay fodder available...Last edited by fitguy67; 08-11-15, 07:11 PM.Comment -

#82fitguy I haven't lost a v-ball bet yet in this thread.. and my history is quite strong on that sport.
as with all sports I try to be VERY selective when taking favorites.
I want you to know I put in my due diligence as much as possible. So when you see favorites
but I do not take them, rest assured there is a reason why I dismissed them.
btw.. I almost took Russia -2.5 today vs DR. They did it, but I didn't take them to 3-0
because they have been on so many back-to-backs.
I guess b2b's don't matter much when you're Russian and Under 18 years old. :-p
I wish we had more info.. that comes when the real pro leagues start up. But mostly
I spend time theorizing with the match histories and some proprietary accumulated
sports knowledge - especially strengths of nations.. although that has indeed been
changing in recent, more mobile, smaller-world times.
Mission III is booked up to 30.46/1 odds now. My goals there will depend on what else
is in the cooker.Last edited by Snowball; 08-11-15, 06:18 PM.Comment -

#88yeah, Canada next... that -335 line is now -450.
i shouldn't have taken Muguruza/Navarro. I saw how she lost
and figured she would want to win doubles and CSN would carry her.
two tb's.. but they got tricked, Begu let them sweep that 2nd set
conserving energy while Mugu must have been fatigued.. no feed.
.. but if Canada wins then we have another one in the cooker, so no harm really..
I almost took Venezuela handball. Youngsters and VZ not a handball country
but they are trying to be.. had a strong lean on them +30.5 which hit.
You'll see handball creep in here. Hockey is just starting up in Europe
scrimmage games. Furyk in the most important parlay.. his game should
be just what's best for Whistling Straits.. tight fairways and rolling greens,
don't take the long hitters - take the short masters in this.Comment -

#93Play at Whistling Straits averaged out worse yesterday, so right now everyone
at +1 is T55. It looks like the cut will be +1 or +2, unless the aggregate play
a lot better or a lot worse than Round 1. Slovenia should have no problem with
Macedonia in volleyball, but I don't want to add as high as -600 in a parlay today.
