fitguy. good posts but you're in search of what cannot exist in wagering, and that
is namely the complete elimination of risk. sure, you can lock in sooner by making the
parlays smaller, but every gambler knows he's only as good as his next wager.
there are no books which allow for non-slotted open parlays.
shortening the parlays accomplishes nothing because there will always be a next wager.
there have been times when i got cute by correlating, but you must be so careful with that
especially about breaking house rules and being shut down that it's better just to be more
selective and patient. later at some point i'll have "sacrificial lambs" which are serious bump-ups
- depending upon how confident i am in a dog, but i cannot say when that will occur.
the protection in this strategy comes from 3 main elements: vetting, patience, and the
reservoir of mature missions which are available to draw from.

take-away point is that anyone can follow along your full-strength missions even if they're not technically offered at their book(s)...(although one of the most popular books, 5d does...most actually do NOT...but, just as most books do NOT offer -1handicaps, they can always be manually placed once you know how)...

you can just "fill up 'da empty spaces" of your open parlay...or you can lay down the legs bit by bit (which SEEMS to require more stones as the number of successful legs increase...so, if you're "rolling your own" it's a good idea to fight any "$-dizziness" by remembering that in the end "it's just the $5 i started with...it's just the $5 i started with", lol...when you're re-risking funds for the subsequent legs closer to the end of mission

I like the Roman numerals because they are endless and don't clash with the other arabic numbers.

have been completed thus far, and start there as the carried stake.

What are with these Euro volleyball matches?

not sure what you mean ? I've been betting on volleyball for years.
Tried to start a thread on it in "More Sports" a couple years ago
but it didn't get any chat. Basically, volleyball is a very reliable sport.
It's more active in the winter, but there are various tournaments year round.
Spreads and totals I would bet live on 365 sometimes.
Basically, you have to be careful by checking records and matchups, but
it's a reliable sport for solid favorites. Occasionally I will choose a side that
is not a high favorite or even a dog but it depends. In the winter time there
are very solid cards with good action (and live feeds) around morning time EST.

i feel immensely more safe with a -500 fave in Volleyball than in arbitrary-call-pinball (in either it's Am.Football or Basketball versions)...for big$riding on a multi-leg parlay you wanna bet on a side in a sport that's determined by player performances...not goddam officiating dumbassery...

Baseball and Hockey results are still largely determined by the players , but Basketball, Football, and Soccer (aka. "diving for cards and kicks") have past the tipping point...still bettable at the right prices...but only "watchable" if you love ulcer-flareups...not for fear of what the other side might do...but because of what those dolts with whistles/flags/cards/vid-review headsets might do

Kudla was off to a good start but then collapsed.
There was a weather interruption in the match and he
proceeded to lose the final tiebreaker.
Tennis is quite risky now as the elite players gear up
for the US Open with lesser tournaments. Many struggle in the US,
the hard surface and the transition to this season, as tennis has 4 distinct seasons,
it is most unpredictable at the beginning of each one.

i'm following along Snow, just gotta say how much i hate betting any kind of tennis unless it's in a GS-or-thereabouts tourney ($-/prestige-wise) OR the side your backing has a serious points-to-defend angle working...

in an important situation (from the $ and/or prestige/rankings standpoint) you can always count on "trying to get the W at all costs"...but this gets diluted/modified in so many unpredictable ways in calendar-filling events...once the "fight tooth and nail to win" is off the table much of the heavy premium you pay in backing a favorite is gone...

Keys yesterday at -520 is a good example...you think she'd tank a third set like that to Tomljanovic in a Slam?...the price would have been about the same if it were in a slam...BUT there's zero chance in a slam Keys woulda' "disengaged mentally " (aka. "threw in the towel" motivation-wise, aka. "tanked") so thoroughly...could very well lose in a slam if her form was off and Tomlj's was on (odds say it'll happen about 1x in 7)...but wouldn't just give in to an "aww fukkit" attitude and be in a hurry to get out of there, as it appeared she did in getting breadsticked by a lower-calibre opponent

point is, i guess, that in a Slam/Slam-like tourney or one in which the player has serious points to defend...you got some heavy "motivation insurance" built into the premium price you pay that you just don't get in the calendar-fillers, where there's very little to prevent player's from mentally-disengaging the way Keys apparently did yesterday

these players, over the course of career and even over the course of a calendar year have so many chances to redeem themselves, in general and against the same player that's troubling them today...that the temptation to say "aw fukkit" is strong...but it's simply not an option at a slam where "tooth and nail"are the rule cuz career-defining opportunities to play and win there are dramatically fewer and far between

same matchup in a slam/other hi-motivation spot offers similar prices to/BUT much less variance motivation-wise than at a calendar-filling event...so if the ticket is expensive, you at least have the consolation that if it loses, it wasn't for a maddening lack of trying...

well, after Rd 1, Seamus Power is up 2 strokes on Bud Cauley, so nothing to
adjust in Mission III. Mission II has Carly Booth trailing by 3 strokes after Rd 1.
I've noticed that this Czech tournament is being played in 4 rounds over 3 days.
Later tonight I may partial hedge against the play, because although 3 strokes
is not a deal breaker, she's going to have to make the cut to overcome.

I have experienced a ton of success this season with MLB +2.5 parlays. Average line comes in around -350 and 6 teamers pay about 3.5/4 to 1. Something you should check out.
