Very little World Series discussion going on here -- Who do we like in Game 1?

OK, the SF Giants have not scored less then 3 runs in their last 6 straight games, and, on average score over 4 runs per game overall. Just a stat, means nothing. BOL to all, again, I say coin toss.

I feel you but I don't think San Fran will be getting many gift runs during this series.

hm.. nice analysis. you know a lot about baseball. yeah i don't like to bet against these types of destined teams. esp since they haven't lost and now they're at home. what if shields shows up in game 1 and allows like 0 or 1 runs? giants hitters can lay an egg at any moment. i don't trust them for some reason.

with regards to #1 pitchers, shields ERA this post season makes him far from trust worthy as well.

I accidentally posted this in another thread thinking I was in this one.

I don't think anyone's brought up the fatigue factor for Bumgarner. This will be his fifth post-season start already and he was not as sharp vs. the Cardinals last time out as he was in his first three playoffs starts, which could have all been scoreless if not for his own throwing error vs. Washington. And he is taking this start on normal four days rest when he probably could have used a couple of extra days off.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar start like his last one with at least 3 runs allowed, which is a key reason I'm on Over 6.

royals do everything better than the giants, better contact hitters, power hitters, best defenders, better all around pitching. you don't think so?

BABIP is even between these two teams and the Giants had a pitcher hit each time through the lineup all year. Royals just walk AND strike out the least in the league so there are tons of balls going into play. If you think they have better power numbers than the Giants you're a joke, nothing to discuss. Royals were also near the BOTTOM of the league this year in terms of fielding while Giants ranked middle of the pack, this is also just a fact.

i disagree about hitting. royals best power hitters are lefties - moustakas, gordon and hosmer, this is a huge mismatch when you are in a series against madison bumgarner. they can obviously hit one out of the park against him but im pretty confident he will both of his starts. its very hard to run against mad bum.

when hudson is on the mound royals should have a field day. old man is washed up and is not very fast to the plate so if they get on base every walk or single will be a runner in scoring position.

ive been watching this postseason closely and i believe giants are a good play on game 1 statistically speaking. the guy they call big game james shields has 5 ER in postseason overall and this year. not even fukking medium game.

hard to go big though if you take into account that royals won 8 in a row.
