Mark Newhouse and Brian Devonshire are the only two names I readily recognize. Would be interesting if they made it to the final 9!

#38Awesome coverage from pokernews. Numbers probably off a few percent because some players have had less hands recorded but gives a good insight into who's playing to win and who's turtling up the pay ladder. Next elimination as I write this is a 95k money jump so the turtles are probably creaming their pants

#44he has to make the final table, and if he gets a top 3 this year, then its a no brainer.... harrington got 3rd and 4th i believe back to back years.... newhouse got 9th last year, he needs a top 3 to surpass danComment -

#45I'm proud to say I'm positive lifetime in the WSOP but thats a small sample of 5 $1500 events from 07 to 08. 2/5 cashes for 6k or so in profit. Then had the bright idea to focus on online and got so much money tied up at full tilt and UB after Black Friday that I've yet to get my roll back up.Comment -

#57the first 9th wouldnt be depressing at all, but the 2nd 9th in a row, after you already have the money, would be very deflating. the money is meaningless at that point.
i mean they give everyone that makes the final table 9th place prize money, then you get the difference in november depending on where you finish. I mean, he could go that 4 month stretch 2 years in a row with all the hype and attention and get nothing two years in a row. I mean just having a chance at the final table in the main event is like a once in a lifetime chance for even the best pros. And to make it two years in a row, and get 9th both times would be a little depressing, especially for someone who the money doesnt mean much. NewHouse is a long time pro. He won the AC Open in 2006, and has played the main event for almost a decade. 750K or whatever 9th place gets is a lot to him but not lifechanging.Comment -

#59didn't cost me a dime... won it by winning a trny at the old espn poker site..... free air fare, suite at bally's, and the course all for free. played my first wsop event that trip, a 345 buyin nightly, final tabled it and chopped as the chip leader. I think the course is around $2500 or so, had annie duke, alex outhred, and Annette obrestad as the instructors, and joe Navarro did an excellent hour or two on tells.....Comment -

I opened UTG, and everyone folded, he said "Aces"... I said no, but I really did have AA. I was playing loose at the time too. It kinda pissed me off actually that he read me that goodComment -

#69Mark Newhouse raised to 500,000 under the gun. Maximilian Senft called, as did Luis Velador on the button. Newhouse checked theflop, and Senft took the opportunity to bet 775,000. Velador called, as did Newhouse. On the
turn, everyone checked. An
hit, and three checks followed. Senft's
lost to the
of Velador.
Strange hand to me. Newhouse didn't get out of line and Velador didn't even try anything. Everyone treading lightly.Comment -
