How is that even possible? He's paying at least a billion too much. Minimum. I would hesitate to buy the Lakers for a billion. The Clippers - go fukk yourself.

Every NBA owner is about to make a racist rant in an effort to net that kind of profit for their ownership in their NBA team. For many of them, it will be their first profit.

          The NBA is trash.

He already came out and said he wouldn't move the team. He would never devalue a team by moving them from LA to Seattle. They will stay in LA.

Balmer was part of the Hansen group that wanted to buy the Kings last year and move them to Seattle. This is a totally separate deal. At least from my understanding.

the team may not be worth 2 billion but it's definitely worth more than 1 billion based on the potential of a new TV contract ALONE

That was before milw deal went for 550 when milw was in the 300-350 range according to forbes.clips get a new tv deal in 2016 ( will increase local TV revenue 300%) which is a big part of this, but still forbes was way off.

If that was the case. Then why wasn't Chris Hansen in on the deal? Maybe an inside job then? Anytime a team moves, there has to be a vote on the relocation. Not sure owners would vote to move a team from Seattle to LA. Much more money to be made in LA.

If they did move that would be awesome. I grew up a Sonics and Blazers fan.

there's a sucker born every minute.

                                              sterling just found one.

no way they're worth $2b. The Boston Red Sox are only worth $1.5 and that is a HUGE market team with lots of fans, historic value, loyal fans, sold out seats every single game for years (in a 37,500 seat park (not 19), and with a 150game season, not 80). Plus Redsox have ALL the fans from ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and half of CT. They have a whole big region... clippers are splitting the same city. There's 4 teams in their state alone.

Red Sox are worth more than the clippers. I can't believe a sucker paid $2B for them.

Clippers are not worth what the lakers are (yes theyre better team currently but Laker name has intrinsic value)

clippers not going to win a championship anytime in the near future... at least until they learn to MAKE A FREE THROW!

He is staying in LA. He can't say attendance we have sold out like 140 games in a row. Part of me wants him to take them away , and I am a season ticket holder LOL, but he won't. If he went to Seattle he loses a billion dollars the day he lands. If Seattle was such a great NBA city they wouldn't have lost the sonics. Seattle and surrounding areas is 3.6 million people, Oklahoma City it is 1.2 million people. Yet the sonics ended up in OKC. Not saying it's the worst city but it certainly is not a city you take the LA clippers

How to make $2 billion dollars in America today:
                                                          1) Buy NBA team for nickels. Hold onto like a stock.
                                                          2) Say some really racist shit.
                                                          3) Sell NBA team for 4 times it's value.

Donald Sterling totally played the NBA. Thanks for that, ESPN. Talk about egg on your face.

Totally agree James. Any team not named Clippers, Lakers, Knicks, Bulls, and Celtics he could take away and move to Seattle. But no way can he move a team from LA to Seattle. From a business standpoint, would make no sense. He would be flushing money down the toilet.
