Balmer was part of the Hansen group that wanted to buy the Kings last year and move them to Seattle. This is a totally separate deal. At least from my understanding.Comment -

#22If that was the case. Then why wasn't Chris Hansen in on the deal? Maybe an inside job then? Anytime a team moves, there has to be a vote on the relocation. Not sure owners would vote to move a team from Seattle to LA. Much more money to be made in LA.Originally posted by ChalkyDogI think he's full of shit. This is on the fast track to Seattle. #23there's a sucker born every minute.
sterling just found one.
no way they're worth $2b. The Boston Red Sox are only worth $1.5 and that is a HUGE market team with lots of fans, historic value, loyal fans, sold out seats every single game for years (in a 37,500 seat park (not 19), and with a 150game season, not 80). Plus Redsox have ALL the fans from ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and half of CT. They have a whole big region... clippers are splitting the same city. There's 4 teams in their state alone.
Red Sox are worth more than the clippers. I can't believe a sucker paid $2B for them.
Clippers are not worth what the lakers are (yes theyre better team currently but Laker name has intrinsic value)
clippers not going to win a championship anytime in the near future... at least until they learn to MAKE A FREE THROW!Comment -

#28He is staying in LA. He can't say attendance we have sold out like 140 games in a row. Part of me wants him to take them away , and I am a season ticket holder LOL, but he won't. If he went to Seattle he loses a billion dollars the day he lands. If Seattle was such a great NBA city they wouldn't have lost the sonics. Seattle and surrounding areas is 3.6 million people, Oklahoma City it is 1.2 million people. Yet the sonics ended up in OKC. Not saying it's the worst city but it certainly is not a city you take the LA clippersOriginally posted by ChalkyDogI think he's full of shit. This is on the fast track to Seattle. #29How to make $2 billion dollars in America today:
1) Buy NBA team for nickels. Hold onto like a stock.
2) Say some really racist shit.
3) Sell NBA team for 4 times it's value.

#31Totally agree James. Any team not named Clippers, Lakers, Knicks, Bulls, and Celtics he could take away and move to Seattle. But no way can he move a team from LA to Seattle. From a business standpoint, would make no sense. He would be flushing money down the toilet.Originally posted by James DHe is staying in LA. #3276ers sold less then 3 years ago for 2.5X annual revenue. Clippers at 2B will sell for 31x revenue. As crazy as this sounds, at 2B I still say Don will fight it.
