Wichita State DID play with the big boys last year and played them tough. Louisville could be a revenge match for them. I really don't think Louisville is quite as good as they were last year. Good, but not AS good.

Wichita State is the most complete team in the tournament and they will show all the doubters they are LEGIT!
Nobody gave them any respect with what they did this year as they say the conference blows....When the good teams play teams they should beat there is no story but when they lose it's huge news. Wichita State never overlooked one team this year and blew out everyone by 10+...
Wichita State is coming out of the Midwest!
I PRAY to see that Kansas State 2nd round matchup as the pussies at KSTATE have refused to play the Shockers due to recruiting issues if they lose....
COME ON KSTATE AND BRING ON DA VILLE IN ROUND 3....Though St. Louis plays shut down D, I can see the Bilikens causing a lot of havoc in the brackets.

On 5 dimes, Louisville is the 2nd highest favored team to win it all.
Florida is #1.

What do you mean, he is almost right on. Louisville would only be a dog vs. Florida (and not by much). They would be favored over any other team in the country including Arizona. Just check out the futures, Louisville has lower odds than Arizona with a tougher path (seeding wise, maybe not reality wise).

You've lost your edge, LT.

only a dog to florida...but you have to take seeding/ease of bracket into effect when looking at the futures... sparty wouldnt be so low if they were in the midwest and not the east (which is the easiest side) ... if you are going by futures, so much for all those teams you said would be favored over whichi st.... .. although you were dead wrong, tourney futures isnt an accurate guideline for game odds

I'm confused by a lot of what LT posts these days. Not like him at all.
Obviously the assigned region is taken into consideration when determining overall odds. At least, I thought that was obvious.

That wasn't in THIS thread.
And I DO think that Wichita State would be an underdog in every game from the Sweet 16 forward if seeding holds elsewhere, but I don't think we will get to find out because I don't see them getting by Louisville. We shall see.
And Good Luck to You.

I started this thread yesterday evening after the seedings were announced because seeing Louisville as a 4 in the Shockers bracket only strengthened what my position has been all along.

They changed the odds now, yesterday they had Arizona Futures lower than louisville. Some books have msu the same odds as Ville too.
Plus perception will change once games play and odds will change.

Shiiiiiit.. I wouldn't be surprised if UK beats them. Then again, I def won't be surprised if they beat UK.. But they don't stand a chance against louisville. ML I'll bet the house on that

Cards are at +600 to win it all (and they opened at +1200) while Shockers are at +1200 (and they opened at +800). I think you have your answer on who will be a significant fav in that matchup, barring any closer than expected games in the first two rounds for those two.

I like that experts are pegging the Shockers to go down believe me coach Marshall will use that as fuel to motivate them. I have great respect for LOUISVILLE in fact I picked them to win last year. Its going to be a test but some forget Shockers dominated LOUIS. for 32 min. up by 12 before they lost. A year older, wiser, deeper, I think they are hungry for more and the ceiling for this team good enough to run the table.

I'll be in Vegas, will absolutely relish those points. If Wichita State gets to sweet 16 and Louisville wins two games by double digits, what do you say the line is for Shockers/Cardinals?

But Louisville is one of the best teams in the country right NOW, which is all that matters come tourney time. They are peaking at the perfect time, I don't see them getting threatened until Final Four.

If they played this game right now, money line extrapolates to about -210 based on 5 Dimes Midwest Region Futures, so line would be Louisville -5 or -5.5

Louisville is overrated.
Everyone got better and they got worse just played crappy teams.

So Louisville hasn't really beaten anyone, but they're one of the best teams in the country right now.
Wichita State hasn't really beaten anyone, but they are a total fraud and one of the weakest No. 1's ever despite returning virtually everyone from last year's FF team (including the most improved player in the country in Van Vleet).
OK.

Maybe so, but that game is a toss up and you're so sure of that?
Geez!
Have you seen the Shockers?
Do you know their history? their head coach?
You won't find many teams in the last 10 years with the fortitude to win, the maturity of players, unselfishness like this team.
I'm not going to guarantee Shox beat Louisville but give me reason to bet against them. People fail to remember last year's Final 4 run and they should have made the championship game. They are not satisfied.
