people are forgetting you don't have to hedge for half of it. he could've asked carbon what the max deposit was and hedged all of that.

    at least make few thousands...

And if he would have put down 15K on Florida State, everyone would've come in here at halftime saying, "why didn't you stick to your gut? You just threw away $15,000!"

People just want something to whine about.

Stax is Albert Einstein compared to that guy. 500-1 moron is a fan, not a gambler, loses with his heart and not his head.

max deposit is 2000 by c. card, 1000 w. union... and I would have had FSU -310. So about a grand I lost out on? and Im out 3K of personal funds for 2 months minimum? No thanks

When I mentioned earlier in the thread something about throwing 10K down to save a 5 dollar bet you laughed at me. What changed?

Stax, if you ever got the chance again somehow in your lifetime to win tens of thousands off of a minuscule bet again would you do things differently or let it ride again?

If 40k isn't life changing (and to most people its not), the right move was to let it go. Maybe you lose a sure thing of a few grand, but who cares. Better to have the swag it takes to sweat it out I say.

Maybe 50 cents would be life changing to all these clowns talking smack though. Lol @ dudes outing themselves and not even realizing it.

mathew, not sure why you keep mentioning life changing?

hedging doesn't have to be life changing but if the figure is significant, then you do the obvious.

but usually in situations like this, the bettor would have mostly ml favs and hedge out with a ml dog.

this instance was just odd to begin with (being all ml dogs hitting) and most likely this scenario will not happen ever again...

Because "life changing" is the exact criteria for deciding whether or not to hedge (assuming that new information and line moves have not changed your opinion on the value offered on either side). Which means that you should almost never hedge.

But that only applies if you want to make money. If your goal is to lose money, then you should just hedge everything.

Whoops, you're right. I had it totally backwards. Hedging out of every +EV position is always a good idea. Carry on.

The frequency with wich these situations present themselves shouldn't affect ones ability to exercise reason & make smart decisions..
