I'm taking the Leafs small.

After Howard's last outing, he publicly admitted that he is very rusty. It's going to take more than a game for him to return to form and I am not sure he should be starting in the net for the Red Wings today. Hopefully the Leafs will get a decent amount of shots off to test him, which has been an issue for them.

I'm on the Leafs in this one. Detroit has been horrendous at home and the Leafs are simply playing better. I don't think there's a need to look too much into this one. Both teams will be up for the outdoor game but the Leafs are just playing better. At + money I don't see how you can pass it up.

No pick in the NHL today, but thee medium plays in the NBA. Yesterday was a very good day and had the makings of being a great day but for two crazy losses...let's hope today is just as good!

Well, a 2-1 day for a couple of units. I really did think that the Nuggets would come out and find their game against that terrible Philly defence....

Losing Bellinelli and George Karl have been so hard on this team. I still do not really understand how they let this happen.

Until further notice they are a good team to continue to fade as the public does like them.

I'd say it was a home game for the Wings before the MakeBeliefs.

Not much Blue, even though I know a ton of canadians made the trip over the Bridge.

Toronto's away record isn't much better with only one more win on the road.

there was a WAY higher percentage of road team fans at today's game then at joe louis. it was also a brand new set of boards and ice that NEITHER team would have an advantage on. joe louis prob has 80-90% wings fans... you can't tell me this game was 80-90% wings fans... wasn't a home game for my wings. and we lost as a result.

I'd be looking towards Howard & that piece of crap they picked up from the Leafs.
Those new boards & ice are inconsequential when it comes to goaltending. They only provide an advantage or disadvantage to the skaters.
And goaltending is your team's problem. Detroit hasn't been able to hold opposition to less than 3 goals twice in their last NINE games.
And by your earlier rationale, shouldn't your Wings have performed better if this were like a road game, at least that's what their record indicates.

Ok guys, late night action at it's best. A load of juice to lay on Finland, but I still like the play a ton. Canada at -3 is also a solid play, and I am expecting a 5-1 type of score. If not a win I am sure the tie comes in a high percentage of the time.

Not sure the fans made a difference, but you are correct, seemed like there were a lot of Leaf fans in attendance. Red Wings played some excellent hockey, especially in the first period. The real story of yesterday's game was Jonathan Bernier, who made outstanding save after save. Game came to OT and then the S/O and since you are a Wings fan, you must have known that your team was in all likelihood doomed. Still, it was a great, competitive game and Bernier was the real difference.

Picked up another 2 units today and we are 10-4 in the last two days.....scratched our way out of the red and back into the black....I wish I had posted those big NFL plays last weekend as we would be looking a lot better $ wise....but it is what it is.

Thanks to people that have continued to support me....I have never gone through a spell like this, so I definitely appreciate it.

bernier was standing on his head in that game. we lost to a white hot goalie, not because howard was a seive. maybe you aren't familiar with our injury report either. we're playing a bunch of AHLers and have been for quite some time. when everyone gets healthy (including howard) there's only 2 teams in the east that can beat us in a playoff series. pens and bruins. hope we get fully healthy soon

Well, another positive day, although for only 2.5 units or so.....but who am I kidding....after that 10 day stretch anything is a good thing. I truly did find 2 leaks, and both were very unkind to me, not just in the last 10 days, but all year. I think it says something that we had a positive day on the last day of 2013 and that 2014 has started out well.....
