Keep this going, certainly a fan of a punter that chooses value over "safe plays", the only way to become prosporous over books long term IMO. Even short term actually. Especially for sports like NBA, where teams get very little rest between matches.

So funny. Portland goes up 10, Irving goes out of his mind to tie the game, but they were not going to win it. All Irving really did was get them to cover the spread. Rough luck for us...again. Irving is a great young player, but Portland blew this one.
One last note....I had to watch the Cav's feed for this game. I don't mind a homer for an announcer, but those guys were actually painful to listen to.

had to pop in for yet another "where amazing happens" gnashing-of-teeth session...a number of days back i declared that i'd had it for any negative spreads in the NBA...because of shit like this...(POR -4.5)...they're up comfortably by 7 points with 34 seconds left...then manage to get tied AND then win by 3 points..(first of all, how is it even possible to blow a 7-point lead in 34 seconds in a game with a 29-second shot clock and guys who presumably are no strangers to shooting fouls?)...the size of the spread is not a secret to anyone on the floor...game smells like bad fish on an increasingly-regular basis

I'm taking it all or atleast most of you're American? Right? I feel a bit sorry for you guys interms of betting on sports like NBA, which can be a very streaky, up and down sport. A team can be trailing 7 points and be as far back as 3.5 underdog and then before what, actually know it, 3 pointer, turnover, 3 pointer, turnover again and it's back in the balance again. This leaves so much value for "inplay betting".
It's worse when you guys bet prematch though I imagine, as you have to make a pick and stick to it. Your team can be 15 points up and still lose the match for you to meaning you get nothing at the end and after all that crap. With inplay you can cover, hedge or whatever. D2D, I had a brief look in here over a week back when you backed Raptors +7.5 and because of the momentum of the comeback, they didn't even cover the spread.
It's cruelty for you guys not to have inplay betting, I know some of you do, but there are others whom have to rely on their prematch selection, which sometimes you may not like during the game. Especially if player's like Tony Parker are getting injured in 3rd quarters.
There's a thing called betfair for UK and Australian betters, it automatically allows you to "trade/cash out" your bet for the maximum amount you could get for a perfect hedge. It's an exchange site and it's ideal for NBA, not only because there are somany shifts in scorelines but because it calculates the hedge for you in the click of a button.
D2D, had you backed Raptors +7.5 with Betfair, you would have had the opportunity to cash out with a computer calculated hedge which would have lost you a couple of pounds / dollars at most if you just let it run and it wins. You would have basically been backing -7.5 warriors with the raptors leading by 20 points in the 3rd quarter. Imagine the odds for -7.5 warriors at that point? A trade out/cash out with betfair means you'd have gotten atleast 95% of your potential winning from that bet in the 3rd quarter just by clicking "cash out".
Why is there nothing like this sort of inplay trading exchange site in the united states? and which states are limited from inplay betting? Feel sorry for you guys having to put up with horrible beats every now and again. Those with Cavs ML for example would have been devasted when Damien hit that 3 pointer, but with betfair, easy trade and cash for may be 60-70% of their potential winnings whilst the cavs had up 8 or 10?Comment -

To the gent that posted earlier...win/loss record means nothing to me. As FitGuy said ROI is the important stat...and total units ahead.
Yes, I do bet - games, but I also bet + games (tonight I had a +275 game on the card. If I hit 48% but could be hitting 4% ROI I would be more than happy.
Frankly, all last year I averaged $2000 wagered per day, but am only at around $1200 a day so far this year. I just need to get my total base dollars up.....anyway, I am just rambling. It has been a tough run here lately, but we are up 20 units through all of these tough days....that's awesome.
One last thing, my model for scoring in the NBA is WAY off still... This year scoring is way up and my totals have been terrible.. And last year it was my bread and butter.

Well, another ok day....almost 2 units worth of profit, but technically we went 4-4. Another NHL team crapping the bed after leading, and an NBA game where we were up 10 with a couple of minutes left. We seem to be running into bad beats and close losses every day and rarely, if ever do we come from behind, get late goals, or erase large leads....BUT, the great thing is that all equals out.
And of course, the POD started out with a win. last year we hot 65% over 60+ picks, so hopefully we can replicate that this year!
Tomorrow will be a good day in the NBA....until then, peace out.

Higher, possibly he is referring to the same thing I'm a bit confused about.
If you look at D2D units by week he is +4.81, -25.34, +7.58, and -1.65 for a grand total of -14.6
If you look at D2D units by sport he is +4.28, +6.34, +13.06, and -2.07 for a grand total of 20.98.
Just realized it cause he was +35ish in November and that you can manipulate some of the column headers, which is a nice feature but you should make a note somewhere that it is a user-controlled interface. Because I looked at them for a solid 5 minutes trying to figure out how it made any sense at all lol
Also, not sure if its possible. But in the month selections, you should remove the "blank" option. Because if you hit select all, it shows an error because it cannot show blank and months at the same time, but if you hit select all, then unselect blank, it works as it should.
Just found all these neat little features out today, quite a nice site you got going

Also, Excel does some things really great and other things really poorly. The reason it shows "blank" is because I have predesignated cells that will be filled in with picks in the near future. If I didn't do this, I would have to manually reconfigure the pivot table on a daily basis, which would be a pain in the rear.
