Recently, I've been talking on here about betting horse racing. I decided that I'm only going to do the Grade 1 races in the classic division. Today was the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park, the first race that fits my criteria. I looked at all the news, past performances, and the like that I could find. Keeping my first horse bet simple and light, I bet $5 for Borrego to win at 5/1 odds. Borrego made an incredible late charge just like he did at Delmar and won going away. Not trying to brag, I'm just really excited that my first race went well, especially since I know its not always going to be that way and this might be the last time I win!
By the way, thank you to Mad and JJ for pointing me in the right direction when I asked for help on horse racing a week or so ago. I got a couple books, studied, and it really paid off because even if I wouldn't have won today, I've found that I really enjoy handicapping horses! Thanks to the both of you! I really appreciate it!
