Only need a 21 point win for the big bet so if they can hold Virginia to 14-17 points and score their 21 I'll hit both. I think and hope i get both with some breathing room. 100% and I was kicking myself for it not 5 minutes into the game. Essentially another $175 I juiced myself out of buying those 2 points. Luckily my aim was to win $525 in the end so that came through plus the easiest call in the world taking Oregon O 20 in the 2nd half. Hell, I would have made the bet if it was 27.

I really think Bucs and Jags win in their openers. I like it for the upgrades both teams have made over the off-season and just as much these are plays against the Jets and Jags, both teams that will probably win a combined 6 games this season.

Brady will have himself a hell of a game to remind the league he still has the goods. They should hopefully cruise in the opener. Stranger things have happened so I'm taking a little precaution in the plays.

Small bet with a medium payoff. I don't see Jacksonville getting more than a TD and a few FGs in this one. Bears have a decent D but Dalton will hook up with Green I think for at least 2 scores. Bucs upgraded their D this offseason but I think Freeman has a comeback year and Martin gets at least a score on the ground and maybe even one in the air. More than worth the risk in my opinion.

Going big on a prop bet, I already know it's extremely -ev but I see it as what could be an easy hit.

Unless there's a total blown coverage or break in the D line, Houston isn't your heave it down the field type of team. Totally happy with solid 8-15 yard plays down the field. On the same hand the Texans D is stout and I see a lot of dump offs and 5 yard runs from the Chargers here. Even a big play doesn't necessarily kill me here as a 40 yard TD is still a huge one and comes in under the 44.5 the number is at. If I had one area to be concerned it would be a kick return for a TD but I don't see that happening. I counted 73 TDs scored so far with 7 of them being over 45 yards, just under 10%. Chalk two of those up in the Dallas/Giants game that the final score doesn't show you how terrible that game really was and I feel a little better about the bet. I wouldn't tail unless you have money to burn.

I've made these bets about half a dozen times. You need the right teams playing in order to smartly place them. For instance the Eagles/Redskins match-up, who couldn't picture a bomb by Griffin to Garcon or a pick 6 by Vick brought back 60 yards? I see a lot of shit that would lead to a huge TD play so no way I'd place it there. I did on this game for the reasons stated above and felt very comfortable doing it.
