So he's paid to be an analyst, yet he doesn't analyze anything, and that's OK just because he put in his time back in the day and should now be grandfathered into our ESPN viewing for the rest of his life?

Again, Vitale used to be full of useful information. He knew every player and every team. Twenty years ago, he was worth his weight in gold as an analyst. Then it became all about the schtick, he bought into it, sold himself out, and now he's basically a sideshow cartoon character who gives the same kind of game or team breakdown as some 10-year-old fan off the street.
