Is Gus still with CBS? Last I heard Gus Johnson is being groomed as the future voice of ... soccer in the usa. Fox is taking over us world cup rights after next year and Gus has been in Europe doing live in stadium commentary for fox soccer channel.

I guess I am in the minority, but I really love Gus Johnson. He makes any game exciting & hell reading a grocery list would be exciting I bet. Yes, he may scream, or squeal, but it shows me he loves what he does & loves the sport too.

So he's paid to be an analyst, yet he doesn't analyze anything, and that's OK just because he put in his time back in the day and should now be grandfathered into our ESPN viewing for the rest of his life?

Again, Vitale used to be full of useful information. He knew every player and every team. Twenty years ago, he was worth his weight in gold as an analyst. Then it became all about the schtick, he bought into it, sold himself out, and now he's basically a sideshow cartoon character who gives the same kind of game or team breakdown as some 10-year-old fan off the street.
