I'm avoiding MLB (Aside from Washington which I locked in last night and we won!)
Love everything else, lines up with my picks (I've been hitting 80% last 2 days so hot streak I guess). In NHL I like Islanders at + odds, also debating on going Montreal.
NBA: Aside from what you have I like Atlanta to win, Celtics to cover and Jazz to cover.

Questions about bets on the MLB "Away-Team Runs" vs. "Home-Team Runs" to D2D or anyone who knows

1. Is there a cute nickname for this (as in the NHL-equivalent of this="Grand Salami"). maybe it's called the same thing here as well??

2. More importantly, wherever this sort of bet exists (such as 5D, only place I'm SURE--off the top of my head--where it's offered)...does it go "off the board" as soon as the day's first game starts...or does it linger a while (I doubt if it would linger until anywhere near the day's final play...). I'm guessing if you want to play this baby...you gotta lock it in before the day's card begins...or shortly thereafter.

No knowledge of a nickname for it, and yes it does come off the board when the first game goes off.

I like betting away here, when the day dictates it.....the away team ALWAYS bats 9 times, and that is part of it for me. I understand teams score more runs at home than away, but if you really concentrate on pitching matchups and you think there is a very good chance that the away teams will score more, then you can pick up a nice little +++ on the ML (here it is +120, nothing to sneeze at).

Everything goes out the window when one team wins 20-2, but it is pretty rare. Even today, with the huge Mets win (11-2) the away teams are still slightly ahead.....that game will give me problems, and in fact I had SD winning there....but it should still be close.

It has been a rough patch.....two days that were the worst I had ever experienced, and of course they had to come close together (thus is variance). It is good to be coming off of a couple of days where we are seeing our Bank growing, but I am very concerned about my winning percentage lately.....I won't lie, it seems scary.

I am having a very tough with in the NBA with teams that are out of contention.....especially when you have two of them facing off....if I had to guess it is better to just always take the dog and play the ML, lol.....but this isn't guessing, so for the mostpart you will notice me avoiding those games.

I know I have let a lot of people down with the picks lately....I hope that people have been playing the best of what I am putting out there (POD?).....anyway, I am off to bed....

I have always found that bowl/tourney/playoffs is not the ideal time for me - I know there are some ppl who excel during those times but that's not me. Sweet spot for me has always been couple weeks into the season up until before playoffs.

It has been a l;earning experience this season. In the NBA the All Star break through totals off for a full two weeks.....and now with the playoffs approaching totals have swung again....these are trends that will help me again next season, if they are consistent anyway.

You should be able to get them at -163 ML now, that's not too much juice... If he takes the -1 he obviously thinks that the -1.5 will cover, but those 1 run wins (especially at home where they don't get the extra at bat) hurt. Maybe sprinkle some ML some -1.5, just my two cents.

you can roll your own "-1 handicap" bet ANYwhere...it's just a properly-sized combination of two bets...a ML and a "-1.5 handicap"...such that the win on the ML bet exactly "pays for" the RL bet (so that a 1-run win will result in a push)

as you know...for MLB "-1.5 handicap" is called Run-line or RL...for NHL, it's called Puck-Line or PL

check out Read this BEFORE you place your next -1RL wager...

it's about MLB...so it's all about RL's==the basic "off the shelf" -1.5 RL...and the -1RL that you can buy off the shelf at some places...but the point of the thread is that you can always "roll your own" -1 RL...and that "doing it yourself" as described gives a considerably better price...there are links in the thread to some handy online "-1RL calculators" to auto-blast the size of the two bets you need
