Read all my posts on this thread. Lots of stats and matchup comparisons. Then take back what you said.
# 4 SOS for SF, # 22 for Atlanta. HUGE difference.
Mannigham is out, IMO Walker IS a target TE to offset the loss coupled with sub WR Moss who is still a deep threat at WR. And they have Crabtree and TE Davis, both stars. (uh, Crabtree might be a bit distracted)
SF: OL-LB-RB = superior, DL-DB & Coach = better than Atlanta.
Seattle deserved to win last week, freak occurances in first half left them shut out. Atlanta luck to be here.
Atlanta: WR's better, QB slightly better for consistnecy and tenure... but K might be better Sunday with NO pass rush and his running ability!
Only advantage Falcons have is WR's... but GB had better WR's (and QB for that matter) than Falcons and they got pounded.
Seattle should have won last week, freak circumstances left them shut out at half time. Falcons lucky to be here. SF won bigger than their score. 323 rushing yds against GB team that had shut dowm Peterson.
SF blowout.Comment -

if you call shutting down AP, rushing for 99 yards when they had no QB, i guess that's "shutting" him down.
walker is horrible at catching passes. 9 dropped passes the past 3 games. he admittedly said that he has trouble catching kaep's passes due to the high velocityComment -

#321let me ask you this...how are they lucky? seattle didn't deserve anything. no one told them to fall asleep in the first half, just like atl fell asleep in the 2nd half. its funny that people say seattle sucked first half and say its ok but falcons sucked 2h and its the end of the world. they got their shit together when it mattered and drove down the field in 18 seconds on two plays. who told them to get stopped on 4th and short to a horrible run D, who told lynch to fumble the ball. who told wilson to get sacked and keep the clock running. none of that was given to atlanta, they played ball.

Face reality. It is written in so many credible accounts, Atlanta had bad luck and some freak occurances in the first half, they should have had 10-21 pts, got 0.
They marched right over the Falcons and wound up with 0 points.
A freak occurance, sure you can give some credit to the Falcons, but you have to be realistic in your handicapping and understand that it was highly unlikely Seattle get shut out under the circumstance, and should have had a more manageable 10-21 pts at halftime. A whole different ballgame, they could have stayed with Lynchg running, etc. Still put up 28 in the second half.
OK, I will bet you all of your 203 SBR points. I have SF - 4, you have Atlanta + 4. Deal?Comment -

Reality? Reality is that they were shut out in The first half. They shut down the defending SB champs earlier in the year when they said eli was going to come in and beat the falcons. no matter how you spin it, That's reality. This is one of the best scoring Ds and it showed in the first half of that game. If they didn't go into prevent defense for majority of the second half this game would not have been that close.Comment -

#324I'm not going to sit here and say well Atl was lucky..blah! They caught Seattle off-guard in the first half of that game period. I do believe this game will result in SF covering the spread of -4 pts and moving on to the Super Bowl. SF will NOT be caught off guard and they will shut down the run game from ATL immediately from start to finish of the game. SF has the 4th ranked defense against the pass vs ATL 6th ranked pass offense...SF has the 4th ranked defense against the run against the 29th ranked rushing offense..SF has the 23rd ranked passing offense vs the ATL 23rd pass defense and last the 49ers rushing offense is ranked 4th vs ATL 20th ranked defense against the run. SF is statistically better in 3 of 4 main categories on both sides of the ball.. SF isnt a super young team especially at the skill positions like SEA is..Especially on defense! Playoff games are won in the trenches and SF has 2 of the nastiest front lines on both sides of the ball! ATL doesnt matchup well on the inside and the game starts from the inside and works to the outside...I'm happy for ATL to have one a playoff game but this game smells bad for them and they do NOT matchup well to SF at all! My prediction is that SF wins by 9 or more pts.Comment -

SF blowout.
Still touting Delany Walker, 4 drops last week? He is a blocking TE that catches 1 or 2 passes a game.
Vernon Davis has been cold as ice for 2 months with maybe 1 catch per game, he makes Walker look good.
On paper, yeah, SF has 9 Pro Bowlers, ATL only 3. But last year NYG only had 2 and SF had 9 in SF.
You've gotta be kidding, comparing GB to ATL. GB did not shut down Peterson until Vikes lost their QB.
Most of what you write is nonsense and made up, like the SOS and GB crap. But you might be right about Crabtree.Comment -

#328First of all, your SOS numbers are a joke, as if SOS mattered. According to ESPN, SF and ATL had the same SOS:

No, I have the Atlanta WR/TE's rated significantly better than SF for sure, read my posts.
I have SF DB's as slightly better than Falcons, but not superior like their OL-LB-RB, or definitely better like DL. Etc.

I have SF even, you have Atlanta even, for 707 SBR points.
I will transfer pts after the game if I lose, or is there a process?
(Dierdorf correctly pointed out last week TWICE in the Balt-Denver overtime that they would keep playing until there was a winner, that the NFL would not allow it to end in a tie)Comment -

Hope the game is not decided by one play that everyone talks about, a crazy deflection-pick 6, a 60 yd pass interference call that the announcers say should not have been called, a phantom holding call, or a ridiculous replay of a catch and the ball barely hits the gound that is overturned or upheld and mystifies the world.Comment -

#343Serbones 500* NFL LOCK OF THE YEAR, SF - 3 1/2, WINS!
Seriously, I had - 4, pushed, I hope those of you that had SF had - 3 1/2 and those who had Falcons had + 4 1/2. What a game. I thought Kapernick would run successfully. Wrong. I though SF would limit Falcons passing somewhat better. Wrong. I did not think Kapernick would throw out of the pocket so successfully. Wrong but it helped my side.Comment -
