#284i would agree with you. i would say if i had to pick one biden would of 'won', because he had paul ryan on the defensive all night long.
but really there was no game changer in the election. will have minimal effects. but i have been saying for a while, debates don't have long term effects on elections.
and really, for obama. he should just spend every last day in Ohio. he can forget about the rest of the 'swing' states. he wins ohio, he wins the election. and out of all the high e.c vote swing states, he has the best chance there. wsj/nbc poll had him up 5 pts a couple days ago.
so i think if there is a clear winner in ohio, the election will be called early.Comment -

#285I agree with Krauthammer. If you read the transcript, its even. If you listen to it on the radio, Biden won. If you watch it on TV, Ryan.Comment -

#286Soo.... if he waited 30 seconds to call him on all his "lies" that wouldn't have worked? When I'm arguing with a complete idiot I usually try to let them talk as much as they possibly can so I'll have more things to call them out on. I should mention that I"m not even a Republican. Bill O'reilly interrupts more than almost anyone on the planet... and I consider him one of the most narrow minded douchebags on the planet.Comment -

far right: Ryan won
objective people: draw (or either won by a slight margin but definitely no clear winner)

#289i just posted a poll, of uncommitted voters. it was 50-30-20. those were people who watched it on TV. uncommitted/undecided/swing voters whatever you want to call them, to me is the best way to judge of a winner. Because those are the people they are trying to convince. 90 percent of people have their minds made up already. they are trying to convince that small 10 percent, who usually make their mind up in the last week.Comment -

not sure though. nothing happens by accident in these debates, biden is too smart to just laugh and laugh and laugh unless it was a cold calculated moveComment -

#297There is nothing wrong with being assertive and calling people out on their "lies". I am highly in favor of this. But I don't think that requires interrupting someone constantly. If Biden only interrupted Ryan a half a dozen times I would have had no problem with it. But when he interrupted him 95% of the time.. he seems like a 5 year old child.Comment -

the debate is for undecided uncommitted voters. that is the only poll anyone should care about. who gives a penetrate about the rest, of course romney/obama supporters are gonna support their man.
Find me a similar poll with uncommitted voters done by anther news org. that has Ryan upComment -

#309The left keeps banging this drum beat of Romney being short on details. Am I missing all the details Obama\Biden are producing? All I've seen is they want to raise taxes on everyone making 200G or more that's not going to fix everything. It's actually not going to fix anything. Even using Joes numbers and it's 100 billion over 10 years when you are running a deficit of a trillion a year that's not going to do much.Comment -

#310In my opinion (independent), neither won tonight. Biden would have won in my opinion if there was not a split-screen view of both. He was the aggressor and Ryan didn't capitalize on some opportunities to counter-punch. Biden's mouth runs faster than his mind. He made some conflicting statements regarding intelligence. On one hand, our intelligence failed us when it came to the embassy, which explains why the President released conflicting statements about whether what occurred was terrorist related or not. On the other hand, he based his Iran argument based on the strength of our current intelligence.
I don't know if it's true, but Ryan's strong points were that he mentioned if you taxed the wealthy people at the proposed rate, you still wouldn't be able to run the government for x-amount of days. To me, that speaks volumes about what's wrong with the current proposed solution to cut the defecit. Taxing the rich is not going to come close to solving our budget deficit or cutting into our debt. To me, if the Democrats are serious about cutting the deficit and balancing a budget, they are going to have to make some cuts that will probably piss off their contingency.
Ryan seemed average. Seemed like the strategy was to make sure that he didn't detract from the first debate. It was really a so--so-- performance.
I am not sure about you guys and gal, but I'll forget about this debate by tomorrow, minus Biden's mannerisms. It didn't translate to television well, but he's a fiery and very passionate guy. Yes, a little looney, but I like a guy that can't hide his feelings or opinions, no matter how much I might disagree with them.
I have a hard time believing that more Americans didn't report that they felt neither won.Comment -

#313I think that if the President would have hammered Romney on the 47% comment, it would have been way more effective than Biden, given his overall unlikability.
I have not been following the news that closely, such a waste of time. What was the 47% comment all about?Comment -

The ironic part? Obama's approval rating is exactly 47%Comment
