#352Biden ....tax the rich. Yawn. Ya that will solve it all. Ryan is right when he says the only way out of it is jobs not food stamps. Furthermore, he was only right at pointing out that Romney worked with the 87% if the democrats when he was in Massachusetts. Obama cannot even put in a budget. Forward? LOL.
yes i purposely typed in all caps, because I don't get how that is a bonus for republicans. All of a sudden, bi-partisanship is something the republicans want? that is truly the joke of all jokes of the night. YOUR senate leader said, their number 1 issue is to make sure obama doesn't get re-elected. The tea baggers, will never, ever, compromise and 99.99 percent of the republicans elected to the house and senate signed a pledge NOT to raise taxes. Never, ever, forever.
so how can you comprise, how is there going to be bi-partisanship. really, are the republicans saying that? I can't believe they are saying that, when they are the ones not willing to compromise.
obama said he would to 4-1 cut/tax. meaning he would cut 4 times as much as he would tax. nope. hell naw.Comment -

#362As far as "debating" goes, I have to say that Biden preformed really well tonight. He dominated the tone and pace of the debate and directed passionate questions to challenge Ryan mid-answer, and while this tactic doesn't necessarily make Ryan look weak, it certainly helped make Biden's positions look strong.
You can get into the "substance" and "facts" all you want, both said some bullshit and spun the numbers. It's irrelevant. Delivery is what matters in a debate. Biden's delivery was strong. He's clearly the better politician. That being said, Ryan didn't come off poorly. He was confident with his numbers/opinion and pointed in trying to demonstrate the differences between his stances and Obama's. Ryan spoke too often in mathematical terms and got lost in the "cerebral" points of his discussion in the actual way liberal sycophants at first desperately tried to paint Obama's performance vs Romney, but other than that, there's not much you can say to criticize him for other than maybe the occasional bout of goo mouth, but all debates have those moments. Most importantly Ryan kept his cool despite Biden's appalling lack of cordiality. Which, frankly, made Biden look like a complete fukking schmuck.
If Biden's demeanor had been more respectful he could have won this debate handedly with independents. That it wasn't suggests he's scared of Ryan. Ryan never losing his cool projects confidence. Think you have to call it a draw. Biden did what he needed to do. He made-up for Obama's passiveness in the last debate and did his best to paint Romney/Ryan as amateurs. Ryan gave the Romney/GOP the numbers/stat image they need without looking like he's too young to shrink from the challenge of the job. When both sides do what they need to do it's a draw.No more of that talk, or I'll put the leeches on you.Comment -

#367Wow. Biden at 68 is sharp as a tack. Nailed every question with clear concise answers. Rebuked everything Ryan
had to say. Gave very good excuses to why 'bama and him did what they did involving any situation from Lybia
to the bailouts.
Ryan came off as a war/ fear monger when the question came up about Iran and their nukes. We are already
the strongest military in the world and he wants to make us stronger? I guess sanctions don't spend money
we don't have. Using fear for SS and Medicare. That has been a talking point since Carter.
Sounds like Mitt the twit and Eddie munster wants to have a military state while the rest of us scrape off
the pennies of their rich boots.Comment -

#373It was pretty much a draw, Ol creepy biden was short on substance, rude, obnoxious, immature and overbearing......... while Ryan was a study in true grit and determination. Steady, mature and full of facts to back up what he said...........the moderator was very partial to the leftists,,,(what a surprise)....Biden generally thought of as a buffoon...Ryan, came off much better after the smoke cleared.Comment -

I've got two people so far who've said that Biden was a joke, laughing, rude, and obnoxious. I've got another who's saying no winner.
Looks like the consensus is Biden was soundly beaten.
Is this accurate?Comment -

#379Regardless of smirks and laughter... Ryan was outclassed. I thought the most damning thing was when Ryan slammed the stimulus, and then Biden revealed how Ryan sent him 2 letters begging for stimulus money citing how it would help create jobs and growth in Wisconsin.Comment -

If we're basing results on was the least aggressive, at times maybe obnoxious and even patronising... then yes Biden lost.
If we're basing it on who presented better arguments and debated and refuted what the other person was saying at much higher level... then Ryan lost. As PR pointed out, when Biden highlighted the fact that Ryan had sent him 2 letters asking for stimulus assistance after he had just slammed the very idea of it, it was a pretty big moment.
Ryan used up a lot of time whereas Biden was more concise. Ryan was more polite for the most part but I noticed that when Biden was smirking the most he was getting ready to refute something he went on to state was incorrect or a lie. So I'm not sure how to take that. Maybe he was holding back anger or maybe it's some creepy media technique.
Someone said before the debate that for the VPs you either need to come out as the attack dog or the loyal lap dog depending on how your running mate did the week before. So they did their jobs well if that's what they were aiming for but I don't think any independents would be swayed either way. It'll re-energise some Dems and it'll give the Repubs something to slam Biden for today but the fact that some parts of the MSM are trashing his attitude and not what he actually said will be quite reassuring to the Democrats I'd imagine. No one cares about the VPs personality whether it's aggressive or docile.
This article from Business Week highlights a few of the things they both got wrong factually if you want the condensed version: http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...-reality-checkComment -
