Why are the Bulls still the favorite to repeat as Central champs with Rose hurt?
Seems like the Pacers would be the favorites, unless there is something I don't know.

nah player... Bulls are deep. Rose might play more this year but even if he doesn't I think Bulls still win that division.
NBA needs a salary cap bad though. its gotten worse than baseball. They should just skip the whole damn season and start the
Lakers vs Heat series now.

The Pacers were a good regular season team last year and the Bulls won't win 60+ games this year. It just seems odd.

i don't know your probably right the Pacers might be a good bet.
I just remember the Bulls being pretty good in the playoffs even after they lost Rose and Noah.

The NBA has a salary cap, and has for some time.

then why do Bobcats run a scrub team out there that probably wouldn't have beaten Kentucky last year? Is MJ just that cheap?

The fact that the books still consider them the 2nd best team in the east without Rose is mind-boggling to me. Celtics are better (IMO they would beat the Bulls in a series even with Rose). You can make a case for New York or even Indiana...

i'm telling you guys at 33-1 to win the division milwaukee is worth a flier
detroit and cleveland are complete garbage, so all you're fading is chicago (with an injury prone rose) and indiana

I haven't even looked at the division props, but I find it hard to believe that the Pacers aren't the favorites. They could end up with the second best record out East, only behind the Heat. Bulls are going to struggle without Rose, and they lost A LOT of key pieces (Asik, CJ Watson, Korver, Brewer).
The Bulls will continue to bust their ass off on defense, but I see them as 41-45 win team.

As bad as the Rose loss was they are still great defensively and they play hard (especially mid-season when other teams tend to take days off). They made a couple nice pick-ups to fill SOME of what they lost. Hinrich comes back to a system he knows and plays well in. They pick up Nazr Mohammed who can give Joakim Noah some rest. They picked up Marco Bellinelli from Italy to replace Korver. Bellinelli is a better penetrator and defender than Korver was and is supposed to be a good 3 point shooter as well. Nate Robinson is a good backup point pickup and always provides a spark off the bench for whatever team he is playing for. They still have Deng, Hamilton, Noah, and Boozer. Add Kirk Hinrich and that's not a bad starting 5. In fact, it's a very experienced starting 5 in a young division. Also Taj Gibson returns for more depth off the bench. Not that Thibodeau goes very deep into his bench but Taj Gibson is pretty nice coming off the bench. It's also looking like Rose could possibly return in March but no date has been set.
I can see why they are still being selected as the favorites of that division although I think missing Rose will ultimately bump them from the top of that division. However, look out for them come Playoffs if Rose makes a late season return and they are in a 5, 6 or 7 seed.

I guess they have a weaker bench, but I don't see how that's worse than losing Rose.
Watch out for Paul George. He's going to be an all star this year. What are the odds anyway for Pacers?

Heat will be bored this year
Look for them to lose money a lot
Chicago maybe 10 over 500 without rose

I wouldnt touch this under +180.
I would take a shot at Pacers in the +200 to +250 range.

I like how everyone is showing Lakers so much love..they aren't getting past Thunder..Steve Nash is one of my favorite players but he plays no defense, Westbrook will be running circles around him..Dwight Howard can't stop Durant from unconsciously making 3s..We all know Kobe is going to shoot 25+ times which will probably be Lakers demise

They already have a Howard stopper in Kendrick Perkins. The Thunder win the West, and then get swept by the Heat.

Boozer is such a liability for the Bulls. The loss of Asik from a defensive standpoint is huge. Especially since Noah is so injury prone
