Yeah, but being accused of a sexual assault isn't against the law either. I don't think the severity of the allegation matters, since he was never found guilty or even charged with a crime. I can go out today and accuse him of being a murderer, but that doesn't mean he should be punished just because of the seriousness of my allegation.
Ben was suspended for getting wasted in a bar and "misrepresenting the NFL." A reporter asked Favre about it last night and instead of Favre saying how fake and ridiculous the whole thing is he say's "I have my hands full with the Jets on Monday". If he'd simply taken his pants down & mooned the bar patrons, I don't think we're looking at a 4-game suspension and all of the force-fed public apologies. The fact is he was accused of sexual assault, again. Unfortunately the situation appears to have been mishandled by the officer who responded to the complaint at the scene, who'd apparently posed for a photo with Big Ben earlier in the day, and was heard commenting to a fellow officer that the girl was a "drunk *****". That officer resigned.
I digress. Who knows if the Favre audio or pictures are authentic, but let's not go comparing the man to Ben Rothelisberger.
