TURKEY DAY! 1 NBA 0 NFL
[502] ATLANTA HAWKS -8
over the Washington Wizards
(2 UNITS)
NBA RECORD: 5-2-0 71.4% +4.04 units
NFL: NO PLAYS UNTIL SUNDAY
LIONS (Closest one to a play) / PATS
The Lions were once ranked near the bottom in pass defense. They've improved to 22nd, as they've limited all but one of their previous eight opponents to 215 passing yards or fewer. They have been giving up 22.9 points per game. They play hard, but can't find a way to actually win against a premier team. Brady is a winning machine when it comes to betting, his record now is 116-37 ATS...Betting him, is a system all by itself. The Lions are getting some action at 6.5 down from 7...But in my heart I feel New England will cover the spread. A PLAY ON Detroit looks like the one here, but I just can't do it. I thought about a teaser, but this one is do or die...no in between. Detroit either loses close or God willing finally gets their Turkey Day win....or they just get BOMBED. I don't think there is going to be an in between.
It is a generous pointspread for a hard playing home dog against a team who may have shot their wad on back to back 30+ point game wins...If you have degenerate gambling in your blood take the Lions here, and if they win straight up...go ahead and have yourself a well deserved glass of whiskey. I'll put $5 on this on just to make it fun, but we can't pull the trigger with this or anything else on Thanksgiving....but if you think about it: What that means is we have ourselves some great games to watch. Boring, non-Marquee matchups are what you want for betting.
NEW ORLEANS/ COWBOYS
When they scheduled this game, the must have thought...Wow...What a great matchup.... But now the Cowboys are horrible and have to face the red-hot defending Super Bowl champions. I like the Saints to win and cover, but I wouldn't recommend betting this game. The Cowboys have changed their attitude and won two in a row...Who shows up...The new Cowboys...or the old Cowboys. New Orleans has been playing under the radar, but they are way ahead of the Cowboys this year.
CINCY / NY JETS
The JETS are a magic team...Maybe one of those teams of destiny. They don't win by much, but somehow, somewhere, they get the win by a couple of points. Cincinnati has to come up with enough energy on a short travel week - without two key defensive starters. With no pass rush to speak of, it's safe to say that the Bengals will not be able to stop a red-hot Mark Sanchez. This game has Blow out written all over it...But the Jets like to keep these games close...So how do you decide. I can see the Bengals coming up with a meaningless last second back door score to cover....That's why I'm only watching.
