#739I think Rex is ready for this game after last year. The Dolphins got lucky last year on Monday or Sunday night i forgot with 2 kick return tds against the jets. THis is a much better Jets team and if Sop wants to go to the wildcat Rex is 100% ready for it. I also love the way he is using Greene and LT not switching them in just letting each go for a whole drive pretty much then using LT at the goal line. The way LT ran against the Ravens and then the Pats was honeslty like the old Tomlinson. He brings tons of emotion to this offense.
We will see if J Taylor and Revis are playing but Revis won't make a difference anyway they don't need his arrogance. I don't see Miami going 3-0 to start the season. Marshall is good but Cromarti (if revis doesn't play) is a physical guy he'll step up to the challenge.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

With that being said, the guy's a great fvcking corner and if you don't think they'll miss him on the road against an underrated QB in Henne, well, let's just say I respectfully disagree.

Are you drunk Goat?
Im gonna most likely take the dolphins. they are only -1 at home. I think they win the game. they showed some things last year versus the jets that they will be able to do again this year. The Jets played a soft team in the pats. The dolphins won in minny. That is not an easy thing to do.Comment -

#743Huge Dolphins fan here, watched both their games start to finish, and although they are nothing special on offense, their defense is playing great. The Dolphins have had the Jets # the past 2 years and the Monday night game your talking about Goat milk was in Miami last year and it was NOT the game Ginn returned those TDs, that game was @NY on a Sunday. The Dolphins home opener Vs. their Rivals on a Sunday night game..... I wouldnt jump so hard on the Jets . . . im just trying to give you some insight, not knocking your pick or anything, just trying to help out so we can all make some moneyComment -

#756Just checkin in.
Took 3 months off. Just got back in the mix a week or so ago. I am looking forward to your LB magic again this season. I anticipate having more time once I finish interviewing so I will make a solid effort to put something on the table I take so much off of. Hope all is well with you LB.Comment -

#769"POWER RATINGS CAN ADJUST FOR NFL STRENGTH OF SCHEDULES
The public often overreacts to the first two week of an NFL season because they're not accounting for who the teams have played so far.
I've even seen stat guys and computer guys make this same mistake. They trust the raw numbers from the games, but don't realize that it's a lot easier to accumulate good raw statistical numbers if you're starting the season against bad teams than it is if you're starting against good teams.
Tampa Bay is 2-0 this year, but they got to play Cleveland and Carolina. How many teams would be 2-0 with that start? Most of the league! Baltimore and the NY Jets are both 1-1, but they had to play each other and one other playoff team from last year. There's no shame is going 1-1 against a tough schedule. That's expected.
Oddsmakers and many sharps (professional wagerers) use Power Ratings early in the season so they don't have to worry about misleading stats or data. A lot of common sense and a sense of the market will put you in the right place much faster than any computer approach when you're talking about early season games.
Pick up where you left off last year. Make a few tweaks because of personnel changes, then be conservative with how you move teams. Maybe Tampa Bay's a little better than last year given their early wins. Lift them a little. They're not suddenly a league power just because they're 2-0. They're still down in the bottom third of your Power Ratings. Should Baltimore or the Jets be moved at all? I've barely touched them even though the"standings" would show them behind Tampa Bay.
To make sure YOU are paying attention to this as you handicap this weekend's NFL slate, I've put together a brief look at who's played the toughest and weakest schedules. It's very simple. I've categorized teams based on whether they've played two decent opponents, one, or zero. And, I've listed the teams in each category in rotation order so you can make notes on your schedule.
It's pretty clear who the good and bad teams are right now. Very few are truly borderline. Kansas City is kind of a tweener. I'm calling them bad right now because they've been lucky to win both of their games. San Diego and Cleveland are shown playing a"bad opponent" with the Chiefs.
TWO GOOD OPPONENTS
Buffalo, New England, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Detroit, Minnesota, Dallas, Houston, Washington, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Seattle, NY Jets.
This is a group that might be a little bit better than you realize. The league scheduled a lot of the bad teams to face each other in the first two weeks, which meant that a significant number of teams opened with tough challenges. If your favorite team appears in this group and is 1-1 or better right now, you're on pace to do well. 0-2 isn't a disaster. A 2-0 start (Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Houston) may be a sign of a big season. If you're keeping your own Power Ratings…make sure you've rewarded the success stories properly, and that you haven't punished the 1-1 teams.
TWO BAD OPPONENTS
Cleveland, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, San Diego.
Cleveland and St. Louis are both 0-2 vs. weak schedules, so they maybe should drop a little further behind the pack than you already had them. So much for the enthusiasm about Sam Bradford and the Rams. They lost to Arizona and Oakland, who got killed in their other games! San Diego is only 1-1 against a weak schedule, which is a strike against them. A lot of sharps have been looking to fade the Chargers because of personnel issues. I talked about Tampa Bay earlier. They're still in the bottom third of the league, but may have lifted out of the very lowest dregs.
ONE OF EACH
Tennessee, NY Giants, Carolina, Atlanta, San Francisco, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Denver, Oakland, Arizona, Miami, Green Bay, Chicago.
What you see is what you get with these teams. They've basically faced balanced schedules that should have given them one win and one loss. The 0-2 teams are in trouble (Carolina and San Francisco, though the 49ers really should have beaten the Saints). The 1-1 teams are about as good as you thought they'd be (Tennessee, NYG, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Oakland, Arizona). Chicago, Green Bay, and Miami are all 2-0 teams who may be a point or two better than I had them at the beginning of the season. Kansas City is 2-0 also, but they've won so ugly that I'm not very impressed yet.
That will give you something to think about as you study this week's pro card. I'll be back early Saturday to run through what the sharps are thinking about the Sunday-Monday ticket. "Comment
