#285I like Brett Favre and believe he is good for the NFL. Football fans and gamblers have a different outlooks it seems. As a football fan (I don't need to wager on a game to really enjoy 3rd teamers in preseason even), I feel it is great and with his seniority and skill, he can help a lot. He has earned his stripes during his career. JMO. Great to have him back again.Comment -

#289Looks like I was wrong on this one. I still think he should not return. He is an old man playing a young man's sport. That ankle tackle he received late in his last game should have been the knock that let him understand the dangers of overstaying a career. Hopefully, he won't be spending his retirement in a wheelchair.Comment -

#291I just find it hilarious that just a week ago ESPN had a whole day dedicated to sources announcing Favre was done then a week later oh there is the drama queen Favre back in Minnesota. I am 100% sure Favre called ESPN to get his name back on all the shows because he couldn't handle not being the story for the 13th straight year. Then amazingly enough all the training camp workouts are over and look who comes back. Like he didn't already know he was coming back, but he had to pretend long enough so he didn't have to do all the workouts like all the rest of his teammates and also be able to watch ESPN all day while they talked about him. I seriously hope some DE gets a direct shot on him from the blindside right away so he goes away and never returns.
Its just funny how Minnesota lets this piece of shit hold them hostage year after year and the guy isn't good enough anymore to bring this team to a superbowl. He is washed up and he proved it against the Saints last year when he just had to pick up a couple more yards for a game winning fieldgoal but instead he does the 1 thing a quarterback is taught in pee wee league. Dont throw across your body over the middle. That one play was the highlight of the 2009 NFL season because after that play Favre couldn't blame anyone else, like he always does.
I used to like Favre and hell i would have no problem if he would have continued playing. But instead of reporting to play every year like everyone else we have to go thru the Favre watch, holding teams hostage, crying at the end of every year saying he is done only to return, blaming everyone else when it doesn't turn out. He went from one of the greats to a joke really quick in my book. Went from one of the greats to people wondering when he is just going to go away.Comment -

#299Javon Walker is a stud talent, it's his personality that's the problem. Favre kept him in line once upon a time, he can do it again. Walker's only pro bowl season was with Favre tossing him the rock. The Vikings most likely inked him to a one year deal, so if Walker wants to stay in the league he's going to have to quit being a whiney brat and play like he's capable of playing. I expect big things from Walker with Favre getting him the ball. Talent-wise, he's better than Berrian & Rice anyway. It's the perfect fit for Walker, being on a veteran team like this.Comment -

#301I can see it now, when the Vikings don't do anything this year Favre will be blaming the new recievers for everything. His scapegoat is already put together and then we can do it all over again next year.Comment -

#315Favre - From Urban Dictionary:
A modern day synonym for the term 'interception' in the National Football League. The act of throwing a forward pass that is received by the opposing team. The act or the state of being intercepted
The Quarterback throws to his receiver is picked off by the other team.... It's a Favre! It's a Favre!
Those Favres are momentum killers in the NFL.Comment
