Heels/Blazers Under the Posted Total

College Hoops Postseason - +20.60 units

A solid night with both the 5 unit first half play on Wisconsin Green Bay +3.5 and the 3 unit full game play on Dayton +3.5 both coming through. Picked up 8 units total on Monday and hopefully this is the start of our seventh winning week in the past eight weeks. Okay enough talk about yesterday time to move on and tackle Tuesday, with a limited college card containing only two games there is not much to pick from, but I did however find one play I like for Tuesday.

Tuesday's Play: North Carolina/UAB UNDER 136 5 units

The under is 15-4 in North Carolina last 19 overall

The under is 6-2 in North Carolina last 8 as the underdog

The under is 6-2 in UAB last 8 as the favorite

The under is 7-3 in UAB last 10 out of conference play

North Carolina

The Tar Heels went just 3-8 on the road this season and averaged just 68 points per game in those 11 contests on 41 percent shooting from the field and 30 percent shooting from downtown. As for free throw percentage, the Heels only shot 62 percent from the line during these 11 road games. In their past 5, these offensive numbers have gotten slightly worse with the Heels only averaging 67 per game on 41 percent from the field and 29 percent from deep over the past five games. A slight sign of improvement can be found in free throw percentage, where the Heels have bumped this up to 70 percent from the line over their past five games.

As for defense, the Heels allow an average of 75 per game on the road on 42 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent from deep. In their past 5 however these numbers have gotten much better, allowing 70 per game on 41 percent from the field and 33 percent from deep. If you look at their past defensive efforts in the month of March, 74 to Miss St, 72 to William and Mary, 62 to Georgia Tech, 82 to Duke, and 62 to Miami, the style of team they play today, UAB, is more closely reflected to the likes of a Georgia Tech or Miami as opposed to a William and Mary or a Duke. What I mean is UAB tries to beat you on the defensive end, not saying they won't run when given the chance, but their main objective is to beat you in a half court setting. I'll take for instance the W&M game where the opposition was knocking down 3s and NC had to counter this with several 3s of their own, letting the other team dictate the style of play. Today I expect no different and UAB will choose to play a half court game as opposed to what W&M or Miss State would have choose and NC will follow suit with whatever style is chosen by the opposition.

UAB

The Blazers are 15-3 at home this season and average 70 per game on 43 percent shooting, 29 percent from deep, and 71 percent from the line. In their past 5 they have only averaged 59 per game on 40 percent shooting, 25 percent from deep, and 63 percent from the line.

On the defensive end, the Blazers allow an average of 60 per game on 40 percent shooting and 29 percent from deep. In their past five, they have allowed an average of 56 per game on 39 percent from the field and 29 percent from deep; as solid numbers as you will find in this time of the year. UAB has held their last 5 home opponents to 52 NC State, 49 Coastal Carolina, 58 Southern Miss, 52, Tulane 55, and Houston 66. All numbers in the 40s and 50s with the one exception being the furthest back and best offense of the 5 listed, Houston putting up 66 at UAB. In addition, UAB is coming off a 72-52 win over ACC NC State and if they were able to limit the Wolf Pack to just 52, I think they can hold their own on the defensive end against ACC NC.

Tell me about it buddy, the last 2 times I played a game involving my home town teams I lost, most recently Pitt and before that an under in a Duquesne game that was pretty much over at the half. Don't know what it is, but I struggle capping my hometown teams as well.
