at Iowa and North Carolina, respectively. Anyone agree? Disagree? Pretty thin-looking card.

#2Im from iowa. and a Iowa/ oklahoma fan. For each of my teams games i always try to guess what the spreads would be prior to bet on them or against them since i no them well. I predicted 5 for Iowa. So honestly i wouldnt bet it. Iowa can score, Ohio St cant.Comment -

#12i believe so yes, if anything i think it a little short, clemson has been 7 points better than everyone they played at home excluding fsu but fsu a tough matchup for them with their length and excellent defense (they did return the favor at fsu tho) including puke.. last year they were only 3 points better both gms but both gms clemson owned the 1st 30 min and tech made a push the final 10 to make it look close which is big considering tigers were god awful from the charity stripe last season and now are among the better ft shooting teams so i think they will control game much like last seasons contest but this time they will finish tech off from the line, also imo clem is greatly improved while gtech is basically the same team. think they will be hard pressed to score more than 50 here while clem should get into the 60s..Comment -

#13offensively yes but wiscy cannot stop guard penetration for shit so if rice, bertrand, and abrams attack the rim they will have success.. could be a thing where over is a good play again. i understand not wanting to back illini and i dont really either but that 1st gm wiscy just got out on your squad fast and it was over, after the initial 10 minute onslaught (at a time wiscy was playing very good ball still btw) illini played with them rest of way for the most part, clearly the fact wiscy was working with a 19 point lead 10 minutes in might have had something to do with it but i just dont see the way they are playing now pouring on the same kind of start here. as bad as it was there were some positives, illini did have 25 freaking offensive boards, of coarse you have to be missing a lot of fukkin shots for that to happen but it also makes you think they def have some things going in their favor on the offensive end.. tough gm, if you made me play it id play illini but again i agree not a easy thing to do..Comment -

#19Iowa had a boatload of pts in the paint and I don't really see that changing tonight. OSU is going to have to shoot really well to stay in or win the game and I'm not sure they are capable of it. Sure they can have one guy get hot from time to time but collectively I just don't see it happening.Comment -

#20A lot will depend on who can dictate the tempo of the game. I still believe the Buckeyes have a very solid squad, and they are elite defensively (not just Craft -- I love Shannon Scott). I'm not sold on Iowa's rotations or their "depth" (guys like Woodbury and McCabe are worthless). Plus, I'm not a Gesell fan. Iowa has a hard time winning close games and closing teams out because he is not the point guard they need that will bring the best out of his teammates.Comment -

#22they let osu score 74, if osu scored 74 a gm this season that would be their only loss.. i get that iowa is deep and long but you selling a very good defensive coach short if you think he cant figure out a way to correct some of that interior scoring imo.. like i said tho i dunno bout this gm really, im not sure what i think of iowa to be honest.. plus i have a built in dislike for osu cause "big bear" is always yapping bout they are the best and craft is "the best pg" and as always he doesnt have a clue wtf he talking bout so if bear thinks osu good im little skeptical, lol..
It's hard to get a read on Iowa because even they don't know about themselves. To be honest, I think McCaffery handles his rotations terribly and doesn't really have a good feel for who should be playing when. His "depth" is actually counterproductive at times. Combine that with the lack of a true/elite PG, and it is what it is.Comment -

#23I don't want to discount their defense because it can be elite but they have suffered some letdowns on that side due to effort which I think comes from their struggles on offense. With that being said the 'players only' meeting they held last week may be what they needed to get rid of their effort issues.Comment -

well i guess that explains why i dont know wtf to think bout them then! lol.. ive only watched them maybe couple few times, their defensive numbers impressive on paper but when i watched felt like numbers were little deceiving.. far as their offense i watched the nd gm and they looked awesome but nd forgot how to play defense and i havnt seen any of the other gms they lit up the scoreboard but whoever initiating the offense whether it their pg or white it feels awkward at times and nobody can really create their own shot which makes me think that osu can slow them down.. cant say it enough tho, i have no clue with them, was listening to some1 i dont think a complete idiot (forget who) that said they could make a really deep tourney run but i dunno..Comment -

#31I like Iowa - 5.5. Here is why. In Big Ten play Hawks have a 5 pt scoring advantage vs. their road games. This is coupled with the fact that their opponents at Carver Hawkeye arena score 3 pts less against them. So, roughly a 8 pt homes court advantage average this year. OSU scores 8.5 less on the road than at home and opponents of OSU score .5 pt better against OSU on the road vs. OSU at home. Iowa is 2- 2 ATS / 3-1 SU, with the loss at home against MSU by 4. OSU is 3-2 ATS / 2-3 SU. They lost to MSU by 4 on the road. But it comes down to UI playing strong as of late, OSU is playing not to lose. Both are coming off victories but UI should take OSU at home. UI 74 OSU 67.Comment -

#32After Iowa lost SU at home to a broken MSU team it's difficult to bet them giving 6 points to a healthy Ohio St team. Either team can win so taking the points seems like the smart play. Iowa should have handled MSU at home (we just saw Gtown control them and win on a neutral court).
Gotta take the 6 points tonight, just my two cents.Comment -
