Spurs @ Magic 12/23

Anyone like Spurs 4Q +.5 ?

they are the 3rd best 4q team in the league, while Orlando is 2nd last. Plus, if the Spurs aren't going to cover, wouldn't they at least put up a little run in the 4q to keep it close? they don't really seem like the type of team to get blown out on TNT

But does the fact that spurs had trouble beating a melo-less nuggets last night and playing a game down the line like last night might hurt them from winning tonite? with magic defense too?

I like the Spurs, but this is a B2B for them and Orlando has had a day's rest to practice and try to incorporate the new players into their system. So this game could be tougher than it looks. I'm tempted anyway, but probably wise to pass. Is George Hill playing for the Spurs?

It might make some sense to take the Spurs as a ML bet and get odds. If Orlando is still screwed up because of the trades and SA has not been impacted by the B2B, they should win outright. So why not take the odds. If Orlando is ready to rock with their new players and SA is not 100% because they are tired, then the 2 1/2 is probably not going to help.

taking the spurs on a parlay ands buyin 4 pts to make it + 6.5 and ml str8 bet....if they loose i dont think they will loose by 7 or more

Seems like whenever the Spurs and Magic played H2H in the past, its usually a big win by 10+. Only 1 of their past 10 matchups was decided by 10 pts or less. I would bet either Spurs ML or Magic -2.5. Spurs +2.5 is a waste of juice.

I disagree. This can very well be a close game. Dont see how past results (all of 2 games per season with very different rosters and situations) have any impact on this game.

The Magic are 3-8 ATS against .500 or better teams, 5-9 ATS against teams averaging more than 99 PPG, 2-5 ATS revenging loss vs an opponent, and 0-7 ATS coming off of an upset loss as a favorite.

San Antonio has only been an underdog by more than 2 points twice this season, once on the road at Oklahoma City and once at Utah. The lines in both of these games were +2.5 for San Antonio and in both games the Spurs won by double digits.

Orlando is struggling as a team at the moment and is still developing chemistry between their new players. We also know they are struggling to score and are playing one of the top offensive teams in the league, as well as a solid defensive unit. There is also some concern that the players and coach Stan Van Gundy have been growing apart and the team is becoming frustrated with his coaching.

San Antonio enters with the best record in the league, perfect chemistry and probably their best team in years. I do not see the Spurs wanting to go into their Christmas break with a loss and expect them to come into this game just as the Mavericks did and control the game.

Actually we do know that. Chemistry is something that is developed over time in the NBA, there is no love at 1st site here. Their own coach even said they are starting from scratch. Can they pull it together and win a game, sure, but they do not have chemistry yet.
