Also Boston managed just 3 pts in the last 5 minutes of the game.."crunch time" Not sure i would want to back Boston here. But anything is possibble and to each his own.. A better stategy is bet Cleveland ML every game and double up if they happend to lose.. I don't think there will be much doubling up in this series.
Again, Boston has become a quick-jizzer due to their old and tired legs. To me, if the Cavs come out and played inspired ball the way I think they will following up the MVP ceremony, Boston has no chance of playing catch-up in the second half.

I'm not playing this one. If you held a gun to my head, I'd go with the Cavs. I'm just taking the under and leaving it at that.

For you poster/bettors
that have a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of forget the details here about....Boston this or Cleveland that or who is guarding who and who plays better than them. All the details are irrelevant here. Boston can't win this series... Cleveland could lose it, but Bosotn can't win it if you feel me. This is a 4 game winning strategy here. Take Cleveland ML every game and if they lose than double up the next game. How many games is Boston going to win here? 2 Max imo and likely 1.
I usually wouldn't advise a chase strategy, but something as obvious is this can't be passed up.
The NBA is working on getting the famed Kobe vs Lebron Finals. The ratings would be the best for that series. Only Boston fans are interested in Boston. Boston has no appeal to the average fan.

celtics tied the rebounding battle and still couldn't cover. What are they gonna do when they inevitably lose the rebounding column by 10+?

This should be one of the more interesting games of the year tonight. I can make an argument for either side really.
Does Doc Rivers take advantage of Mo Williams on the defensive end? Rondo can punish him off the dribble, and Ray Allen can post him up at will. Is Doc a good enough coach to take advantage of this fully? Is Brown a good enough coach to yank Mo if he continues to get abused at the defensive end? I don't know the answer to either. Brown got lucky in game one, in that Mo's dunk and subsequent offensive outburst somewhat offset his inability to cover anyone on defense.
Was the Celtics first half an abberation, or more true than their second half bomb? Conventional wisdom would say that the 2nd half was more of the norm- God knows how many times we have seen that from the Celtics in the 2nd half this year.
I certainly don't expect the Cavs to play as poorly as they did in half 1, but half two was equally as good on the other end of the spectrum. The bottom line is that Boston wins game one if Pierce and Allen shoot just reasonably well down the stretch.
Contrary to how the season has played out, I see the Boston second half as more of an abberation than the first half. The main reason for this is the shocking (at least to me) revitalization of Garnett. Game one he had 10 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks to go with 18 points. This is closer to the old KG than it is to the guy who looked like a shell of himself all year. Look, I'm THE BIGGEST KG hater on the planet, but the guy is back. In 6 games he has averaged 16 points, 9 board, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Not quite up to par with his monster career numbers, but much better than what we have seen all year. Numbers aside, it looks like he has gotten some of his lift back too. He made some inside buckets, and didn't score every point on a jumper. Rondo is a monumental mismatch for anyone on the Cleveland roster, aside from Lebron. If Pierce can find the range, this team can beat Cleveland. I said no way going into the playoffs, but KG has made me change my mind.
I will take the Celtics all day getting four or more points in any game this series.

Boston backers: are you worried that Jamison did next to nothing in Game 1, and the Cavs still covered?

I wouldn't say he did nothing. He did what he should, deferred to the hot hands on offense. He did put up 9 boards, a steal, and 2 blocks to go with his 7 points.

The game might even go over, the Cavs succeeded with a faster pace against this old team, and you'll have Rondo trying to push it too, but Cavs will cover.

One of the keys to tonights matchup will be how Boston's anemic bench performs. They have got to get more than 14 and 12 minutes out of Tony Allen and Glen Davis. If they can get 16-18 quality minutes from each Boston wins this game.

I'm not a fan of going against you at all, just loving the C's tonight. Certainly wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, I have been fade material in bases and baskets for over a week.

Pretty rare, a person on this forum with some NBA knowledge. Rivers doesn't know how to use his bench though. He puts guys out at the wrong times, and his rotations are terrible.

after they were pumped in the 2H and was held to 3 points in the last 5minutes of the game... Yea,Give me Boston ML and Boston +6 Them folks are braver than me. The easy strategy is take Cleveland ML every game and double up if they lose. I can't see Boston winning more than 2 games in this series max so there won't be much doubling up.

Rivers has been known to mismanage alot of things. He caught hell in the reg season for resting the starters too much, but that was one of his only great calls this year. With that being said, Rondo is the only one who should be playing close to 40 minutes. KG and Pierce specifically have played really well in the playoffs when rested, but have lost their legs late in games. Rivers has to play the reserves more to have a shot. I know it must be hell putting in what he has on the bench, but it's his only hope to win.

No, it's not hell. Boston has a solid bench. Rivers doesn't know how to use them. He doesn't know who to put on the floor at the same time. Nate Robinson should be in the rotation, and you can't be putting Tony Allen and Daniels on the court at the same time. Sheed should be on the floor when Shaq or Big Z are in the game to stretch them, not when Varajuo is in. If Rivers wasn't a moron, he'd move pierce to the point during the last 3-4 minutes of the third quarter, and stretch with all shooters, Ray, Finely, Sheed, and Garnett/Davis. All of these rotation mismanagements are a big reason why teams lose games.

Goat, is it fare to say that both coaches are a "little challenged"? I don't know if Mike Brown is any smarter than Rivers. The difference is Brown is working with the best player in the game and a deep team.

Funny thing is I called Jonathan Stone also and he gave me Cleveland -6. I guess he gave us both sides so he was guranteed to have half his callers win
